Three years ago we decided to go somewhere different from our usual choice of destination of West Wales so we chose to go to Newquay. We stayed at Quay West Holiday Park and I am glad to say it was a great holiday if a little bit cold as we went in October for our sons birthday!
But as it so happened we arrived not long after, after not realising just how close we actually were!
As we arrived into Newquay we were met with a long high street with a shop and post office and many houses then just a few minutes up we saw the huge park sign welcoming us to Quay West! What a relief! We drove in and followed the signs for the reception, we found that we had to go into the club for our caravan keys and just from the outside the club looked pretty impressive.
After getting our keys we drove to our allocated caravan which was placed on the opposite side of the park to the club and was also quite high up in the hills/cliffs. A good thing to being there however was that our caravan was placed near the exit road of the site meaning we needed not drive around the site in order to get out.Our caravan was clean and spacious but I think it was one that was rented out by owners rather than being an on site caravan as it had a lot of personal touches. It was nice and big with a large living area, separate kitchen and diner and then a passage way which let to the bathroom and bedrooms. It was quite dated however but not too bad.
The club was fab. We went the first night after unpacking and having purchased tickets for the prize bingo we were all sitting by the table with drinks and crisps when the boys decided they needed the loo, so hubby took them along and as he did our ticket number was called out and I was made to go up on stage for our prize ... The shame! I won a lovely pink bag, a colouring book, pencils and some other club merchandise! Great! The site is not far from the town and the beach but as we went in October we didn't get the chance to really enjoy the beach, however we had nice fish and chips on a bench over looking the sea and watched the dolphins leaping out of the water, it was incredible!
We had a real nice stay here and I would definitely go back in the future. The park was nice and clean and easy to navigate. They also have adapted caravans for the disabled which I think is great. Thanks for reading :o) x
