Queen's Park - Lots to See and Do Whatever the Weather!

Advantages: Cafe, Indoor Area, Reptile House, Pro-Active Management, Superb views of Glasgow and Beyond
Disadvantages: Dubious reputation after dark

...park we visit most often; Queen's Park.

Queen's Park hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons last year and it was closed to the public for several weeks. It was missed massively by the local population, and fears that the people would not use the park following the incident were completely unfounded, when they returned in their droves following its reopening.

Go Ape (Aberfoyle) for thrills in the tree tops!

Advantages: price, scenery, long zip slides, fun even in the rain!
Disadvantages: age restrictions, could be delays round the course at peak times

Park overlooking Aberfoyle. This is about half an hour north of Glasgow and really accessible for much of the Central Belt. The Lodge has a restaurant (serving meals till 5 and coffee & cakes till 6) 2 shops and an Osprey information area. The toilets were clean and tidy and there were plenty of outdoor picnic tables. The Course The course starts with a quick safety instruction and a lengthy zip slide to the area where the full safety brief takes place. The safety brief takes around 30-40 minutes with practice and demonstrations. It was made very clear to us all that the consequences of not following the simple instructions could be lethal! It was mentioned that 2 people had fallen from a course after not following the safety precautions. After the safety brief (at this point everyone was given an option of quitting and being given ...

Glasgow smiles better!

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

Glasgow is one of the best cities that i know. there's lots to see and do like The Transport Museum which shows different modes of transport used in Glasgow throuout the ages, accross the road from that is the Art Gallery and there is also the Modern Art Gallery in the centre of town, they are all amazing and the best thing is that all the museums do not have an enterance fee although your are asked for donations at the door. Glasgow boasts a whole range of Shops, it's three main shopping Precincts being Buchanan Galeries, St Enoch Centre and Braehead which is the newest they are all easy to access by public transport and there are also lhe main streets like Argyle Street, Suchihall Street and Bath Street which all have an extensive range of shops. glasgow has beautiful parks that are also easily accessed by public transpart, e ...
