Well im a student at Uni, which pretty much says it all. I play games, I eat food and I have a girlfriend. As a result, the things I review are mostly centred around those three things. Also I like cats and tortoises, of which I own two of each.

Anybody who likes Subway will probably like this. The same sort of principle, where you get a Sub and choose your salad. I base my experience on the one in Luton, as this place is hard to come by in the UK I have found. As I am not familiar with business practices, I don't know if the offers and customs are universal, so I will try and nail down what Quizno's is all about and throw in only a few things that may be more specific to certain branches only.
This review will probably sound like a comparison to Subway, which in many ways it is, to help explain. So to start with, there are three sizes of sub you can choose from - a regular 4 inch sub (less than a sub, a bit "larger" but not quite satisfactory for a meal), a larger one that is 8 inches (much more satisfactory, fills the gap a sub can't reach) and then an even bigger one which must be bigger than a footlong sub and is certainly a meal. At a good price, too.
There are two breads you can choose - white or brown. The bread is a lot crustier too than a sub, but there is no "end" piece to reduce the volume of the bread (so you get the size's worth, rather than a curved end). Then you choose what you want from the menu, in which there are different "tiers" (with different price bands). I go for the cheapest, as I am a student on a tight budget and have to travel by train daily. Then they will ask if you want tomato, red onion, etc and any mayo. You can ask for the other arrangement of salad and condiments but generally the sub is pre-defined by a set of meats and ingredients. Also worthy of noting is that they will weigh the meat, which allows for a much stricter diet since the meat is fairly accurately weighed.
They will then toast your sub on a conveyor belt of sorts, after giving it a shake with herbs and putting cheese on (either cheddar, or some other sorts depending on the sub.. or er.. quiz?). At the other end you pay, after having the "cold" salads like lettuce put on, optionally. You can, like Subway, have this made into a meal deal which is a set price rather than an upgrade (so it is £x for a meal, rather than sandwich + £x for an upgrade). Then you can either eat-in or have it wrapped up and taken away, which is a bit better than Subway's wrap-and-bag approach which can be annoying when 10 seconds later you just unwrap it again.
Subway used to have a "club card" which was simply sticking tokens to the card and getting a free sub, 6 subs later. They discontinued this because of employees selling the reels - however Quizno seems to think that rubberstamping a card will be fairly secure. I don't complain. For my "free" sub I just get a very expensive one. The store manager is very friendly and kind, whereas the staff can be a bit odd at times. They aren't too generous with the amount of salad they offer either, but they do have a more diverse arrangement of toppings, I think. Overall they are more expensive than Subway, but students get a 20% discount which makes them a bit cheaper. The place in Luton has free wifi access too, and a bigger layout with less customers so it is a fairly nice place to eat in.
Overall this place, when compared to Subway, is different and lacking in some areas. But when compared to your average sloppy greaser, Quiz' is definately an improvement. More need to be opened and this should be on the top 10!

Think there is one of these in Nottingham, not tried it yet though! Rebecca Xx

Sounds like an alternative to Subway that'd be worth a try - not seen them in Germany yet though! Had no idea that Subway had discontinued the token/card system in the UK, that's still going strong over here (only need one more token for my next free sub!)...
