Advantages Advantages Cheap, fantastic service, flawless journey

Disadvantages Disadvantages Nothing in the slightest

Renfe Renfe is a train service operated throughout Spain. Following the nationalisation of the Railways Renfe was created in 1941. The company itself manages 15,000km of railway of which 7,000km are electrified. Part, but not all, of the network is operated with a high speed system known as AVE. A surprising fact is that Renfe serviced 5 million more passengers than Iberia Airlines (Spain’s major airline) in 2007. Renfe maintains an outstanding record of 98.54% punctuality, slightly less than Japan’s 99% record. Renfe also operates commuter trains in 11 areas including Madrid and Barcelona ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great service...

Disadvantages Disadvantages Make sure you're at the station on time because they do run early at times!

Renfe has a very comfortable and forever modernising fleet of rolling stock, with all long intercity journeys in trains with comfortable seats, television screens showing the latest films, music, complimentary sweets from the friendly staff and all this in the clean environment! The trains, as I have said, are very clean and are constantly being modernised and replaced to ... more

Stronly recommended if you're travelling in Spain is to cut out or cut down car hire and travel on the AVE trains which are high speed inter city services with airling like facilities. All trains I've travelled on have monitors above your head running down the corridors with new films playing, stewardesses handing out sweets for travelling through tunnels and childrens play areas. Not one out of 8 journeys have been late. Not one train was overcrowded. All seats must be reserved so therefore no ones left standing. Makes UK intercity trains look like 3rd class. Madrid to Seville now takes ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap ,On time, fast. Next to the airport at Malaga.

Disadvantages Disadvantages They dont go to Marbella.

If you are going to the Costa Del Sol on holiday and you are wondeing how to get from the airport at Malaga to your hotel, before you book your taxi or shuttle bus, have a think about catching a train . The airport at Malaga has a railway station outside and it will take you about 5 minutes to walk there. Once there go to the ticket machine , click on the union jack to change the language to english. Make sure you have some euros in change, find you destination, say wether you want a single or return, put your money in and out comes your ticket. The train times are on show and the trains are ... more
