This is a review of The Radisson Edwardian Marlborough Hotel - an immaculate 4 star hotel situated in the Bloomsbury section of London.
The world famous British Museum is but a hop, skip and a jump away (ok, maybe a 5 minute walk is more appropriate, but it’s very close by!)

Staying at the Radisson Edwardian Marlborough Hotel on a double en-suite room with breakfast basis would probably set you back around £69.00 per person per night (which is good value for money considering its prime location: 10 minutes walking distance to Oxford Street, Tottenham Court Road, Leicester Square and Covent Garden areas).

The reception staff and concierge are very friendly, well trained and courteous (always a bonus I find!). Christos and I received excellent service during our stay at the hotel (albeit for one night only!)
The room we had was beautifully decorated with traditional English décor and elegant furnishings.
As well as a hairdryer and a trouser press, there was also an ironing board, an iron, tea/coffee/herbal tea and hot chocolate sachets – with choices of sugar/sweetener and of course cups, saucers, spoons and a kettle! There was a mini-bar in the room but we didn't indulge on this particular visit (aren’t we good?!)
Another bonus was the safe [discreetly hidden inside the two door wardrobe] it's very easy to use to store valuables you don’t want to have to lug around the streets of London while you’re out having a good time...
The bed was very comfortable with clean, crisp white linen and good quality pillows. Cable television was available as well as a good choice of pay per view channels (including recently released movies and, of course, those of a more adult nature - ahem!)
There was a very impressive Room Service list whereby you could order: food, drinks, shoeshines, laundry services, newspapers, wake-up calls (the list goes on) on a 24hr basis.
The en-suite tiled bathroom was what impressed me - with luxurious toiletries including: shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, emery board, body lotion, shower caps, thick fluffy white towels and bathrobes and tasteful fixtures such as spot-lights and heated towel rails, all set in hues of avocado and cream [very restful on the eye].
The bath tub was nice and deep, and the shower head/handle was the removable kind - so you can aim the hot, gushing water wherever you like!
**FOOD AND DRINK**
‘The Glass Restaurant’ situated on the ground floor provides a perfect setting for dinner or breakfast and the Solution Café Bar (also on the ground floor) is available for snacks and drinks.
We had breakfast: what a treat!
Coffee and tea are brought to your table (where there is already a selection of preserves/marmalade, butter and a milk jug in place) but the rest is self-service.
A selection of very fresh, very delicious fruit (pineapple chunks, watermelon wedges, honeydew melon cubes, fresh strawberries [whole], peach halves and mixed berries – all served in separate HUGE chilled glass dishes) was on display as well as pitchers of cranberry, orange, apple, pineapple and grapefruit juices. Then there was a choice of five or so cereals and a platter of cheese and cold meats and fresh baked rolls...
Now we move over to the hot buffet: here you find all the usual ‘Full English Breakfast’ items: bacon, sausages, grilled tomatoes, scrambled eggs, baked beans, sautéed mushrooms, hash browns, tiny fried eggs (each egg was placed on a four inch square piece of fried bread) – all of which you can help yourself to as much or as little as you want!

Advantages: Elegant, affordable luxury hotel Disadvantages: Only one...missing the usual range of toiletries
We loved this hotel, ideally located for everything you'd need for a weekend visit to London. On the doorstep you have museums (we visited the British Museum to look at all the plunder of the Empire), theatres, shops (Oxford St), and all manner of touristy distractions! The hotel itself was beautiful, very elegant and tastefully decorated, with a marble lobby and very attractive artworks. As you move away form the lobby, the decor is less impressive, ... ...Our room was small but perfectly formed, with a large bed, dressing table, double wardrobe, tea and coffee facilities, mini bar and TV. An iron andironing board are provided, along with meanding kit and trouser press, all the things you'd expect. The room was very clean and the sheets a luxurious satin-cotton. Lovely!
The bathroom was a nice size and all marble, and very clean. The only small gripe I had was that the usual toiletries you;d expect ...
