We loved this hotel, ideally located for everything you'd need for a weekend visit to London. On the doorstep you have museums (we visited the British Museum to look at all the plunder of the Empire), theatres, shops (Oxford St), and all manner of touristy distractions!
The hotel itself was beautiful, very elegant and tastefully decorated, with a marble lobby and very attractive artworks. As you move away form the lobby, the decor is less impressive, but still very nicely done in the Edwardian style.
Our room was small but perfectly formed, with a large bed, dressing table, double wardrobe, tea and coffee facilities, mini bar and TV. An iron andironing board are provided, along with meanding kit and trouser press, all the things you'd expect. The room was very clean and the sheets a luxurious satin-cotton. Lovely!
The bathroom was a nice size and all marble, and very clean. The only small gripe I had was that the usual toiletries you;d expect were not present . There was pump-bottle shower gel bolted to the wall that doubled as a shampoo, but it was hard work to get enough to pump out to wash your hair! A shower cap was provided per person, but only one facecloth (but when you're sharing a double room it's not too much of hardship to share a facecloth!). But again, this is the only thing I can find that was not perfect...
Breakfast in the morning was again impresisve - a choice of full English breakfast, fresh fruit and juices, creals and ham and cheeses.
I would say that this hotel offered very good value for money for a central London hotel of it's quality (we paid £52pp for a doube room - via a hotel booking website, not directly through the hotel's website). I would definitely recommmend it, as we had a veyr pleasant stay.
