Parque de La Paz Hotel Review.

Advantages: Excellent location and fantastic value for money. Highly recommended.
Disadvantages: Nothing stands out as being an issue.

Please bear in mind that Holidays in Tenerife are usually aimed at the 18-30 age group. The Parque de La Paz hotel is located in Playa de las Americas on the south of the Island. It is situated nearby a supermarket and a mere 400m from the wonderful beaches. Tenerife's reputation certainly goes before it and I found many of my ideas surrounding the island were wrong. It is true that Tenerife accomodates a large number of english tourists, however, i felt that part of the culture of the island remained in tact and the standards were certainly not low. As for the hotel i thought it was excellent value for money. As a £200 package holiday I felt the rooms were a great standard. The rooms were a good size with a lovely balcony and all the appliances you need. The rooms are cleaned daily by a cycle of friendly maids. Despite having a large ...

La Paz, fascinating city high in the Andes

Advantages: stunning location, interesting people
Disadvantages: Car fumes and general pollution

foetus. The market is off Saganaga calle at Linares. The second market which is definitely worth a visit is the local feria up in El Alto (the poor and indigenous part of town, technically a city in its own right). Colectivos going up to El Alto can drop you at the feria which gives a more local slice of life for regular citizens of the town. La Paz is not a particularly unsafe city but normal precautions apply and be careful at the markets for pickpockets. The Iglesia de San Fransisco and it's plaza form the centre piece of the town and are good for people watching and watching life go on around you. The Museo San Fransisco is an interesting look at the history of the church and through it the early inhabitants of the city and its development. The second museum worth going to is the Museo del Coca which is small but informative on all things ...

Review of La Paz

A comfortable night at the Plaza

Advantages: Comfortable bed, nice modern room, good location, close to airport transport
Disadvantages: No safe in the room, the automatic mini bar, crowded breakfast area

I stayed at Radisson SAS Plaza Hotel in December 2005 at room 919. The hotel is hard to miss in downtown Oslo. With its 37 floors it is Norway's biggest hotels and one of the tallest building in Oslo (if not the tallest). The location is not bad at?if you arrive at Oslo Central Station after taking the Airport Express train it only takes about 5 minutes walk to get to the hotel. I think it is the only Norwegian hotel that I have been to that has a international feel when you walk into the reception: there are bell boys in fancy red uniforms, flat screen TV's showing news, bars etc. The check in was fast when we were there even if the hotel was quite busy in connection with the Nobel Peace Price preparations. Remember that you have to use your card once you get into the elevator in order to be able to press the button to get to your ...
