I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and really enjoyed myself. I thought the best way to tell you about it was to break it down. So here goes !!!
********COST************ A very important factor for us all. I paid £180 for the 2 nights and Buffet breakfast was included. It was on the Magic Weekend Package that I booked over the internet. Personnally I thought this was a very good price for 2 adults for 2 nights to stay in a top class hotel in the centre of Belfast.
*************LOCATION************ Well I think the next important thing is location and this hotel is ideally positioned. It was easily within walking distance of the main centre. The hotel is no more than 10 minutes from City Hall. One of the things I also like about this hotel is the fact that although it is central it is out of the way of Belfasts hustle and bustle. So I was able to have a good night's sleep and a good time out.
************ROOM**************** We stayed in a standard room, but it was super in quality. It had free Broadband and a laptop size safe. I liked the fact that it had individual climate control. We had requested a non-smoking room and I also believe that they have disabled rooms as well. Our room was in a Nordic style. It was on the second floor and are decorated in cool blue and pale wood with floor to ceiling windows. The bed was very comfortable, nice and firm, we had a queen sized bed. I know that they have various other types of rooms including business class and suites.
**********SERVICES************ This is always important to guests, I know it is for me. All guests have access to the fully-equipped LA Health and Fitness premises. It is not located in the hotel but I believe it is located close to the hotel. I did not make use of this facility. There is also a Concierge Service. I did avail of the 3-hour Express Laundry which was super. Obviously the cost depends on the articles of clothing being done. I paid £12 for a blouse & skirt.. The breakfast was included in our room price and was super. It was the normal buffet style with hot or cold choices. There is the option of using the Express Check-Out. An imprint of your credit card is made on a special Express Check-Out form. All you have to do is complete the relevant sections of the form before you leave, sign it and keep the top copy. The remaining copies are simply handed to reception on leaving and a copy of the final bill is sent to your address. We didn't avail of the Late Check-Out, but the hotel does have it. If you want to leave late on the day of departure, you can keep your room until 3pm, all you have to do is to tell the reception. Another brilliant service is the Grab & Run breakfast. If you are in a hurry and don't have time for a sit down breakfast there is hot coffee, tea, and fresh croissants available in the lobby, every day.
***********DINING********** The restaurant has a very Mediterranean feel It is called the Filini Restaurant offers a selection of Italian cuisine. The restaurant overlooks a lovely water feature with fountains and the interior of the restaurant has leather seating and private booths. Cost for 2 people, 2 courses was £59 including a lovely bottle of wine. I jotted down the opening hours as I thought this might be helpfull as well. Breakfast: 6:30 a.m.-10 a.m. (Mon-Fri); 7:30 a.m.-11 a.m. (Sat-Sun) Lunch: Noon- 2 p.m. (Mon-Sat) Dinner: 6:30 p.m.-10 p.m. (Mon-Sat) The other good thing with rhis hotel was the delicious lunch buffet (Mon-Fri) £13.00 for 3 courses and £10.00 for 2 courses.
**********BAR********** The bar was quite modern, with an open gas fire. It is open plan and has a contemporary feel to it. It also overlooks fountains and was a lovely place for drinks and a light meal.
************OVERALL**************** Wel overall I have to say it was well worth the money and a very enjoyable stay. I would recommend this hotel and can honestly say that I feel all who stay in this hotel will be as happy with it as I was. I hope this gives you a good insight into this property.
Advantages: Good location, excellent service, air conditioning in rooms, fabulous views, mini-bar, high speed internet access Disadvantages: Few niggles with room, pricey, always full
...dealt with immediately, which for a weekend was pretty impressive (not quite as good during subsequent visit to the Hilton Milton Keynes, but will save that for another time).
SUMMARY
In fairness, a nice hotel with good service and a superb view, it couldn't be faulted and therefore gets 5 stars from me. Would I return? Definitely, although I would check the weather forecast first.
If you do decide to stay here, you could find yourself in good company. The Hilton Belfast has played host to quite a few stars and high profile political figures over the years, and pictures of said guests are proudly displayed in the reception area.
This is my third visit to Belfast in as many years, and the Hilton is undoubtedly the best. There is also a RadissonSAShotel opened up a short distance away, but talking to the barman, he indicated...
