I had a great 2 night stay here. If you want a hotel for its facilities and base your stay very much on this- this is not for you. The gym is small and spa incredibly overpriced- there is no pool, the bar is stylish but small. However if like me the main point is having a really comfortable, clean and stylish room to enjoy this if for you- and I am always surprised when I read lengthy reviews that mention the hotel room in 1 short sentence- for me this is the main element to a hotel?! I asked for a 'chic' room high up- we were on then 15th floor overlooking the city so got what we asked for. The room was larger than looked on the website pictures, with good hanging space for clothes, really nice Samsung tv, and the largest bed I have ever seen- which was amazingly comfortable. Hotel room is grey carpet, dark wooden furniture with deep red tones and huge windows. Everything in our room was immaculate and looked new, nothing that looked tatty around the edges at all. The bathroom is average hotel square, enough room to move comfortably around in, nice wide sink- small white tiles on wall and grey tiles on floor. Shame about lack of designer bathroom products but you get little pots of Radissons own brand which was fine. Curtains black light out near completely and although on a main road being so high up there was only a gently hum of traffic. There are also ice dispensers dotted around outside rooms on the corridors which is always really useful- and for the first time in a hotel- it always worked!
The location is superb- close to both stations and literally 3 mins walk as the website states to the Bullring in one direction, and Mailbox the other. So you can happily stumble home from shopping/bars without any hassle at all. The staff were really friendly and polite- both in the restaurant and when seeing them around hotel- got in a lift and often staff were travelling from floor to floor- they would always beam and greet me very warmly. The breakfast buffet was fine- we came down quite late so might explain why the cooked breakfast buffet was slightly hard around edges, but good selection of juices and fruit- and on one morning a chef who will prepare you your egg/omelette as you like it which was great.
All in all- unbeatable location, lovely room, friendly staff, reasonably priced rooms (if you get breakfast included deal. Downsides- lack of facilities and when checking out they already charge full amount to the card I gave as a deposit which was a bit cheeky and the min ibars charge automatically if you move things around so had 3 drinks added to this- as well as £30 we did not eat in the restaurant. They were quick to remove this- but you cant help thinking they rely on people/business travellers not noticing and just signing away for it anyway?! Anyway: a very positive experience and I would stay here again if in Birmingham.

A good Review, it would get a VH if it had some more info on stuff like prices, restaurants etc - minibars almost always charge if you move something - its' the hotels way of not having to check the minbar each time a guest checks out
