Although it's been a while since i last visited this hotel, I have to say it was amazing. Definitely one of the best hotels that I have ever been to. Granted it is more for the business traveller due to it's location but all the same it's very smart.
***LOCATION & TRANSPORTATION LINKS*** The location is really the only downside to such a superb hotel. Located in the South East of the city, the hotel is about 8 km from the city centre and almost 25km from the airport. It is within walking distance (infact a bridge connects it) to EXPO trade grounds and is next to the TUI arena. So really the hotel is more for business travellers rather than tourists and this is where the hotel has decidedly aimed the
hotel at. Despite this, the hotel is still easily accessible. It is positioned within walking distance to the MESSE OST tram stop which takes you straight into the city centre or the nearest train station is a couple of kilometres away. I arrived here and decided to walk, but i didn't realise how far it was so I would avoid this and get a taxi.
***ROOMS*** The rooms of such a high quality and with the majority of customers being business people, they need to be. There are three types of room style, Maritime, Scandinavian, Italian and Hi-Tech. I was given a Scandinavian room, although basically i think they bought all of the furniture from IKEA! Each room has complimentary tea and coffee making facilities and free internet access, as well as TV, hairdryer and trouser press. Non-smoking rooms are also available and they also told me that they had rooms specially designed for allergy sufferers which I never thought about but think it's a great idea. Suites are also available for those with a bit of extra spare cash (or paying with the company credit card), however, I wasn't able to experience such a luxury. I think the rooms are much larger and have extras such as newspapers delivered and dressing gowns and the like. 24 hour room service is also available.
***HOTEL FACILITIES*** The facilities at the hotel although sparse are very good. For the business orientated client, there are a number of meeting and board rooms available with presentation equipment available. There is also a Business Centre within the hotel allowing guests to use PCs, Printers and the Internet whenever they need it. With regards to leisure facilities, the hotel boasts a small fitness suite (with up to date machines) as well as a sauna and steam bath for those who just want to relax. The hotel also has a restaurant and bar for relaxing in the evening. Drinks prices are pretty standard although the restaurant is split into an A La Carte section and a buffet section. The range of food is quite extensive and caters for every taste. Parking is also available at the hotel for a price of €13 and pets are also allowed to stay in the hotel at a price of €14 per night.
***STAFF & CLEANLINESS*** I arrived at the hotel just after midnight, having travelled for most of the day and getting lost part of the way through so i wasn't in the best of moods when I arrived, yet the member of staff behind the reception desk was extremely polite and courteous as well as having a smile on his face, despite it being the middle of the night. Bar and restaurant staff were always friendly and the chambermaids were equally as nice, often making conversation with you as you go downstairs for breakfast each day. The hotel was impeccably clean, I couldn't fault it what so ever. From the lobby to the restaurant and up to the room, the place was very clean and tidy.
***PRICES*** I found the hotels prices to be quite competitive although I did stay when there weren't many exhibitions on and the hotel is a bit of a distance from the city. Prices start from around £55-£60 for a room, whether there is one or two guests or not. This includes, use of fitness and well being facilities and includes a buffet breakfast in the morning as well. The price can go up, depending on how late you book the room and depending on the size as well. Dinner in the evening can set you back between £20-30 per person although drinks prices are fairly reasonable.
I'm very glad i chose this hotel. Although the location isn't great for tourists, it's perfect for business travellers or those who like to have a bit of luxury. The facilities are great, the hotel is clean and the rooms are very modern. If travelling to Hannover, I would seriously recommend this hotel, at least take it into account when you look.
