Ok going back two years now, I took my then fiancee to this hotel en-route to a romantic getaway. She didn't know what was happening but I had booked her off work for a week. I won't go into the fine details of it but we turned up at the hotel (quite strange that the lobby is not on the ground floor but on the floor accessable via the airport walkway) and booked in. The staff were very courteous (even though we felt like we were in our scruffs compared to everyone else) and particularly helpful. The lobby receptionist did however make a mistake and say we were booked into a standard room, I had to remind her that I had in fact booked a suite (which took away the surprise I wanted to spring on my fiancee.

We was advised to go and get a drink and relax, everything would be taken care of in our stead. The bar was comfortable, if a little upmarket for our tastes, leather armchairs as well as stools. The choice of drinks was a little mindblowing and we helped ourselves to a few coctails, there were also bar snacks freely available on the bar (although you hear bad stories about them when people don't wash their hands, ick) When we went up to the room (after more than a single drink it has to be said) we was pretty much flabbergasted at the sheer size of the suite, it took us ten minutes to actually find everything. There was chocolates on the pillows in the bedroom, and in the adjoining study was a bowl full of fruit and some chilling champagne. The furniture was leather of considerable quality, we had a thick, lush carpet and a bookcase full of books. There were floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking one of the tyerminals and a few runways. All of our luggage was neatly hung/folded into the furniture and needless to say, the room was completely spotless.

After we cleaned ourselves up enough to seem like we fit in, we ordered some food. I had a fantastic steak that was cooked perfectly as ordered. My fiancee wasn't keen on the salad she received, but she said it was more to do with her own views on it rather than the actual quality and presentation of it.

That was pretty much it, the next morning we checked out with the obligatory "How did you find the room Sir?" I don't think there are many facilities in the hotel due to the point of it being a stop-over hotel, and maybe it's not too family friendly (in that there is nothing for children to do there) but this is not what this hotel is about.

All in all I would say our experience of this hotel would be exemplorary, however I would need to mark it down for facilities.
