The hotel is rated as a 5 star and it certianly was. All the rooms were very clean and were attended daily by the cleaners who did a very thorough job, often leaving flowers on out pillows which I thought was a very nice touch.
The hotel is situated in the middle of nowhere, there is absolutey nothing to do in the area but I think the hotel more than accomodated for this. The hotel had its own night club, 2 bars and 2 restaurants. It also has its own Ampitheatre although the shows they held there were quite poor but still we found it worth going for a laugh!
We stayed on an all inclusive basis. The food was to an ok standard, I am vegatarian and I found that there were not that many choices for me and also the food was not labelled and it was often difficult to tell what was in each dish. The restaurants did different theames every night, such as Italian, Chinese, Indian, South American to name a few and there was always a chef cooking food fresh for the diners which I thought was a nice touch.
The hotel has a scuba diving centre atatched where I took part in 2 scuba dives. The staff were fantastic and I would urge anyone wanting to dive to go here, the visibility was amazing and the staff put you at ease and were very professional. The prices were also half of what you would pay here to dive.
There are protected coral reefs along the beach attatched to the hotel which you can snorkel over so even if you are not keep n scuba diving, you can snorkal for free and get an amazing view of the different varieties of fish - really is something to be seen.
The staff in the hotel were very friendly and attended to your every need.
Ice creams are available free of charge (to people on the all inclusive basis) between 1-4 which was great as it got very hot while sunbathing.
The setting of the hotel was beautiful, set deep in the mountians, providing a wonderful landscape for taking photos. The hotel has a large swimming pool and attatched to this was a kiddies pool. Sun longers are free of charge and the pool boys will bring you over towels. You have the choice of sunbathing on the beach or by the pool, sunloungers were available in both areas. There were plently of bars dotted arounf the hotel so where ever you lay you didnt have to walk very far to get a drink or snack. There are also hammocks around the area which provided us with a few giggles.
The hotel itself was very breathtaking to look at and I felt it deserved to be rated as a 5 star!
The rooms were large, I shared with a friend and we had a double bed each. Also in the room was a fridge, a tv, plenty of storage place for clothes, a table and chairs and a storage space designed for suitcases, which was very useful as it kept them out the way. The rooms had large bathrooms, with a full size bath and regular hot water. You also got free Sky Tv out there which was useful between 4-6 when the sun has gone down but it was too early for dinner.
I really would recomend the hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday, however, if you were looking to see the sights of Egypt then you would probabaly be better going to Sharm as in Taba you are quite a long journey from the main sights of Egypt.
Advantages: Sheer luxury at an affordable price Disadvantages: In the middle of nowhere
This is a wonderful hotel at the Red Sea resort of Taba, in Egypt. The hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere, so there is nothing to do but relax in the sun, swim in the pool, eat, drink and be pampered. And this is the place to do it.
I stayed on an all-inclusive basis in February 2004. The staff were very courteous and helpful. The food was excellent, and the cleanliness throughout the hotel could not be faulted.
The towels and bed linen ... ...during the day, the towels were changed again.
The entertainment was poor, but by the time we'd enjoyed a long leisurely meal over a few glasses of wine, we were happy to sip a coffee on the terrace before taking a stroll along the beach, then retiring.
The hotel is on a lovely stretch of beach which is kept loevly and clean. The sea was warm and calm and I enjoyed many hours snorkelling along the reef.
If you are looking for a relaxing break ...
