This weekend just gone me and the missus thought we'd go off on a short break in London. We chose the SAS Portman Hotel since its location was fab and the price fell within our budget of £300 for 2 nights. We had heard only good things about this one so we booked at Lastminute and paid £240 for a Superior room with breakka. Or breakfast, in English. If we had booked through the hotel's own website it would be nearer £300.
Where is it, then?
The hotel is located just off Oxford Street, opposite Marble Arch tube station. It has easy access by tube, since Marble Arch, Bond Street and Oxford Circus are within walking distance, and many buses stop nearby. Even night buses! I don't need to tell you how good Oxford Street is for shopping.... but I will. All the major chains are there, plus its home to some of the biggest department stores ...
Advantages: Stylish hotel in a superb location. Unique feature of huge aquarium in hotel atrium. Disadvantages: One bed rather than two pushed together would have been nice!
the total for two people for two nights but does not include breakfast.) Its not cheap but for the comfort and superbly convenient location I think it could be considered reasonable value. (Little side point here - the cost of using the observation lift in the aqaurium is not included for hotel guests.)
Would I recommend this hotel? Well for couples or friends visiting Berlin for a sight-seeing weekend............go on.......give yourselves a treat.
Just a note: this hotel is in the throes of being "re-branded" as the Radisson Blu Berlin. ...

A very important factor for us all. I paid £180 for the 2 nights and Buffet breakfast was included. It was on the Magic Weekend Package that I booked over the internet. Personnally I thought this was a very good price for 2 adults for 2 nights to stay in a top class hotel in the centre of Belfast.

Well I think the next important thing is location and this hotel is ideally positioned. It was easily within walking distance of the main centre. The hotel is no more than 10 minutes from City Hall. One of the things I also like about this hotel is the fact that although it is central it is out of the way of Belfasts hustle and bustle ...

Welcome to the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel, located in the city centre.The hotel consists of two separate buildings on opposite sides of the street. In the past they functioned as two separate hotels but are today joined together as Radisson SAS Royal Hotel via a walk passage under the street. One of the sauna centres is located above the city skyline on the 11th floor giving you a great view of Vaasa. At the gym you may also keep up your exercise regimen during your stay. It is located on the fifth floor and is free of charge for hotel guests. The gym is closed during the weekend. A wireless high speed Internet connection is at your disposal in the conference rooms, lobby, restaurants and Superior and Business Class rooms. Wireless access cards (Sonera HomeRun) can be purchased at the reception, unless you already have one. Please note that your PC needs to have a LAN-card installed for this purpose. A Business Service Centre is available in the lobby, e.g. with Internet access via NetPoint kiosk, at an additional charge. A spacious warm garage is available for your convenience.
