Advantages: Location, price Disadvantages: No internet in lobby
...I stayed at this hotel during my third trip to Hawaii in 2006. The big plus point to this hotel is the location combined with the value. The hotel is just a very short walk from Waikiki Beach, the shops, restaurants & the beachfront hotels. It has a central location which takes you right into the heart of Waikiki but being on Kuhio Avenue it has great access to The Bus for anyone wanting to explore the island. The hotel also has a recommended Thai restaurant (Keo's) on the ground floor which also does a breakfast menu. There are other options nearby. The hotel itself does not have a real breakfast area.
The hotel facilities are good for people using it as base. It has an Outrigger Activities centre to help organise events, a small shop and helpful hotel staff. The condition of the hotel is good also. Our room was large enough...

Advantages: Utter heaven. So many different sides to the island Disadvantages: Travelling time 22 hours.(stop of at America on route)
...I went to Hawaii and stayed in Waikiki which is the tourist area of the main island. Its about a 20 minutes transfer from Honolulu airport to Waikiki and cost about USD25 for a private transfer in a towncar(A posh taxi).Travel is easy around the island by bus.All journeys cost 1 dollar.Make sure you have a 1 dollar note as they dont give change.Bus guides can be bought in the Seven to eleven corner shops for 5 dollars. The number 13 (CHECK BEFORE HAND) is a useful bus running from Waikiki to Pearl Harbour , you have to visit the HSS MISSOURI where so many brave men lost there lives.Admission is free (make sure you pick up a ticket on entry and dont loose it!!)but donations are gratefully accepted.Go early as only about 45 people (We Qed for 2 hours, but lots to see while your waiting)per boat allowed across to the site.First you get...

AQUA BAMBOO AND SPA
Our hotel was one of a collection of Aqua hotels in the area. The user-friendly website (including online bookings and discounts) boasted many facilities at the Aqua Bamboo and Spa- kitchenette, air conditioning, high speed internet, a salt water pool and waterfall and on site spa facilities, amongst other things- therefore, at $93 per night (there were cheaper rooms available) this boutique hotel was great value for money. Situated on Kuhio Ave, Bamboo, as it was affectionately referred to, was in an excellent location, one block- a two minute walk- from the beach and amongst a selection of shops and restaurants. We really couldn't have asked for a better location as not only was the excitement of Waikiki within strolling distance...

I have just returned from a short skiing holiday to Norway where our party of 8 (4 Adults and 4 Children) stayed in this wonderful hotel. Our accommodation was half board. The rooms were comfortable, with private bath or shower, WC, mini-bar, cable TV... more
This review of the hotel will be a bit limited as I only stayed there for one night in April 2007. I arrived late in the evening and left early in the morning so this is merely my impression of the room and check in/check out.
