Raintree Lodge- Fort, Cochin

Advantages: quiet & peaceful, beautiful scenery, close to Ben Nevis, a perfect lifestyle
Disadvantages: A long way for just a weekend

...at the corner of High Street, or the Calluna Lodge for all self-catering holidays / bunking based just outside the town centre in Upper Achintore. The nightlife is fantastic for me... Pay a visit to the Ben Nevis pub and cast away your problems drinking with the locals, and you can't stay in Fort William without a visit to McTavishes Kitchen! A highland fling, bagpipes, fantastic food and drink... There's something for everyone around the area... Climbing, walking, camping, shopping, rent a boat, horse riding, diving... ...information about Cochin Town Cochin as a tourist destination is a very attractive city still maintaining the old world charm with forts and palaces, a Jewish Synagogue, some really ancient churches, prominently among them is the St Francis Church, which is the first European church to be built in India by the Portuguese ..and the Giant Chinese fishing nets tied to massive teak and bamboo poles dotting the entrance to the harbour, quite an awesome sight! One has plenty to do here other than the visits across the usual tourist destinations. There is a huge antique market stretching to nearly a kilometer in the Jewish city at Mattancherry in Cochin.One can spend a whole day looking at the objects on display.They have huge carved wooden pillars, banisters, wooden chests, earthenware,old lamps, some lovely bead and wood jewelery, just about... ...I feel well qualified to review this hotel as I have stayed here 3 times now and each time it has been expectional. The service from this hotel starts when they transfer you from Cochin airport across the road. Location is the key to this great place. As a lot of international flights land at about 2 am and onwards this is the place to stay on landing. The front of the hotel is just ordinary white washed building low lying 3 floors thats all. However the foyer is quite nice with a great siiting area for guest with lovely comjfy leather chairs and luxurious coachs. The staff in the main area are very helpful and efficient which is what you really need when coming in late at night The 24 hour check out is also helpful so you can enjoy your stay .
