The Ramada Hotel, Dover looks very impressive from their website but I have to say the reality falls very short of the expectations you might build up from that. Having booked a Double room we expected it to resemble the photo of a double bedded guest room.....we were very wrong!

We arrived late at night and were directed to our room, it was barely big enough to fit the bed in there, to move around among the bed, small table and 2 chairs you had to shuffle as it was so crammed. The second disapointment was the supposed interactive tv, this again was not what was expected, there were only 4 of the terrestrial channels to view (the 5th was just missing and the 2 sky channels had been turned off). The interactive part came from the limited ability to purchase items and supposedly view your bill (this too never worked while we were staying there)
In the morning I needed to iron my partners WHITE shirt (we were staying at the Ramada to attend a family wedding) which had become slightly creased on the journey. I found and managed to set up the ironing board in the tiny amount of space availiable only to find a terrible amount of starch burnt on to the bottom of the iron, the whole plate was covered in a black mess. We complained to the desk staff who sent a housekeeping representative to see us, she brought an iron that was barely any better but at least the starch on the bottom wasn't black yet and didn't see any problem with using either of the irons.
The advertised mini gym was a joke, a room about the size of our room with 3 peices of equipment in should not really class as a mini gym!
Overall, I have to stay I wish we'd stayed elsewhere as it would have saved money, been a larger room and much better experience. The only positive I can say for the Ramada is that they have very comfortable beds, unfortunatley being only 5" 2 I had to climb into it both nights as they are so high off the floor but then, at least with the walls being so close it would make it more difficult to fall out
