The Ramada Hotel in Calgary (Canada) is a personal favorite, and when in Calgary, I wont stay anywhere else, indeed, I am willing to travel an hour or so just to stay there!
My son loved it too (But not as much as the theme hotel in Edmonton (Different room every night!)

The Ramada Hotel Downtown located in the booming metropolis of Calgary and only one hour from the beautiful Canadian Rockies to the west. Its within walking distance of the local attractions, city businesses and the shopping malls nearby.
The hotel advertises as having 200 rooms, but it has 201, strange, but true!
IMAGINE THIS As you walk through the doors from the street, you are met by immaculate cleanliness, and a high standard of service, as you can expect with the Ramada group.
Often, as the cab pulls up outside, a doorman opens the cab door, and two chaperone's appear to take your luggage, the footmen welcome you will a smile, and impeccable manners.
Youre guided in to the reception, reservation confirmed, and then led to youre room.
The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well designed, they are also refreshingly soundproof, meaning you cant hear youre neighbours, and more importantly, they cant here you (Very loud son when hyper before you ask!)
Room Service is awesome, and incredibly quick, the facilites are brilliant, but most unusually, the place always seems to be half dead, meaning its all yours, at any time of year!
The hotel has full convention and catering facilities.

So all in all its a great hotel, and if youre in the area, its worth a stay (If you can afford it - or convince the company to pay for it!)
Advantages: Very nice and clean city Disadvantages: -
about 18 pounds per night and person. Besides there is a Holiday Inn, a Ramadahotel, a Sheraton hotel (direct at the Eau Claire Market), a Mariott (near the Calgary Tower), a Westin etc..
In the east of the city, outside of Downtown, there is a youth hostel. Likewise there are hotels near to the airport.

You can get a good breakfasts in one of the many Coffee Shops or smaller restaurants. At each corner there is Starbuck's. If you want to have a really good breakfast you have to search a bit. We discovered then however a small cosy shop in typicall American style, where you can eat very good without paying so much money. There are Sandwiches, ham, roasting potatoes, small sausage, eggs... in addition, salads etc.. For a sandwich and a Cappuccino I had to pay about 6$. The disadvantage is that the small restaurants are ...
