Advantages: Elegant architecture, River Severn, lots of pubs! Disadvantages: Can get a bit rowdy, gets very crowded in summer
...Railway, which runs between Kidderminster (the station is 100 yards from the main line one) and Bridgnorth, a total of 16 miles through beautiful countryside. Steam (and, indeed, preserved diesel) buffs can stay here for the day; the rest of us are getting off first stop, so don't get too comfortable (third class only, please!). On the journey, the line passes next to the West Midlands Safari Park; it's common to see elephant or rhino from the train. After a short trip, we arrive in Bewdley. Well, Wribbenhall to be precise, the name given to Bewdley east of the River Severn.
Leaving the station, we descend the hill and turn right onto the main road. After a short walk, a road runs off to the right. Before we turn up there, though, look out for the electricity substation? You what? Yes, indeed. Local lore has it that this was a mediaeval burial...

Advantages: Excellent cheap alternative to Las Vegas Disadvantages: You can still lose all your money of the Casino's though
...About 90 Miles south of Las Vegas you will come across a town called Laughlin.
Started by Don Laughlin who wanted people from Arizona to have easy access to the Casino's of Nevada.
Laughlin is situated on the Colorado River Bank and encompasses 9 Large Casino Resorts , all along the lines of Las Vegas but with one massive difference - MUCH CHEAPER.
The Hotels are
Don Laughlin's Riverside Hotel & Casino
Flamingo Hilton
Edgewater
Colorado Belle
The Pioneer
Golden Nugget
River Palms
Harrah's
RamadaResort & Casino
I have stayed in Flamingo Hilton , Colorado Belle & Ramada and can vouch for the high standards that they all enjoy especially Ramada & Flamingo Hilton.
If anything , Colorado Belle is aimed a little more towards children
Prices , you will be amazed to here that for Sunday to Thursday , prices tend to start from $18...

Advantages: You can get very close to all the animals Disadvantages: The monkeys are gone, rides are a bit rubbish
...Ever since i was very little, the West Midlands Safari Park (or WMSP as i will refer to it from now on), has been a place that i have visited fairly frequently. First of all as an excitable small child, then when i was getting into my 'going on scary rides' stage, nowadays to keep my excitable girlfriend happy, ha ha! It has been a regular attraction for me simply because it is within 10 miles of where i have always lived, so it is a very easy place to go for a day out.
LOCATION
WMSP is located in a lovely little town called Bewdley, which is adjacent to Kidderminster, famous for its carpets, and not a lot else. It is about 10-15 miles from Birmingham, and is signposted and easily accessed from the M5 and M42, and also from the M6 (just look for the brown sign with a white elephant). Public transport isn't too great for the park...
