Advantages: Cheap, nice rooms, good location, nice employees Disadvantages: The elevator smells like a pit latrine
...If you are visiting Seattle, Washington and looking for a cheap stay, give a thought to the Days Inn on Seventh and Blanchard. It could just be a good option. The downtown Days Inn is located just about one mile from the King Dome and the AMTRAK station and just one block off the "free ride zone" of the Seattle MTA.
Checking In … with some "reservations"
The ground floor of the hotel is primarily taken up with parking, and the small Green House café just past the reception area. Reception is a small area on the ground floor just off the covered drive through entrance. The desk is populated by helpful and friendly employees 24 hours a day. Our 2 AM check in experience was accompanied by a very obvious "working girl" wringing an elevator key out of the desk attendant. Not a good sign! Nor is the elevator to the room which...

Advantages: Price, location, ameneties. Disadvantages: Noise, no elevators.
...sure you ask for a room courtyard-side or in the second building. (The one without the reception desk).
Rooms are quoted (2007) at $89, but discounts are available through sites such as Expedia. (I paid the equivalent of $78). This includes complimentary breakfast which is available next to Reception consisting of drinks and various fresh and tasty pastries. Hot drinks are available right up to late in the night. On occasional nights, free wine tasting is available!
Although not Downtown, there is excellent accessibility. Local buses run outside very frequently to downtown and the suburbs. The hotel also offers a courtesy bus running every 30 minutes within a 3-mile radius. (Just tip the driver a dollar or two).
Locally, as well as being close to the Seattle Centre, there are numerous restaurants, bars, theatres, a cinema and a large...

Advantages: Right in the heart of the Pike Place Market Disadvantages: Noisy airconditioning but not bad enough to spoil the trip
...Possibly the very best location in Seattle, a small luxury hotel right in the heart of busy, buzzy Pike Place Market. If you opt for a pricey waterview room you won't be disappointed but we went for city (or no) view and saved dollars for spending on the wonderful market offerings - food, wine, cheese, chocolate, zillions of fresh flowers and of course a Starbuck's on every corner - what more could you want?
We found the staff friendly and helpful and having travelled the length and breadth of the US on both business and leisure trips can honestly say the Inn at the Market takes the biscuit for best ever bathrobes.
Only sore point was the lack of integral aircon, our room being equipped with a unit that came on like the Trans Canada Express. We gave up on it after a while went back to an old fashioned open window....
