Ramada Inn, International Drive

Advantages: Large comfortable rooms, good views from rooms
Disadvantages: No entertainment, no shuttle service

This was the first hotel we stayed at when we went on holiday to Orlando in 2003, it was then known as the Wellesley Inn but I think changed to Ramada in 2004. It is well situated on International Drive, Orlando for all the attractions and restaurants on this 1 mile long stretch. The room was extremely large with 2 queen sized beds and plenty of space to move around. It had a sectioned off wash area and bathroom with shower over the bath, microwave, safe, fridge, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, desk etc. Unlike some hotel rooms in Orlando the bathroom was a separate room, some of the others had a room with bath/shower and toilet which was lockable, but the washing area was just sectioned off, meaning you had to warn other people in the room that you were about to wash your "bits." To make matters worse this area is positioned by ...

Ramada Plaza & Inn - New Yorker

Advantages: Centrally located, Fantastic concierge service, Airport Transfer can be arranged
Disadvantages: Located in the Garment District Credit Card takes a beating.

Our second honey was going to be one to remember. I was gobsmacked walking through the revolving doors into the Ramada Plaza & Inn - New Yorker Hotel, New York City. We had expected something quite shabby as it was a last minute deal through expedia.co.uk whilst sitting in Manchester Airport waiting for our flight to arrive. (Talk about last minute). The hotel can arrange airport transfers in the form of a limousine service, they cover JFK Airport, LaGuardia Airport, Newark and LGA. The cars range from a comfortable 4 seater limousine to an overside SUV limousine. Of course this is at a price, it ranges from $65.00 to $110.00 (£35.00/40.00 to £60.00/70.00) not too expensive they will display your name on a board, taking the hassle out of waiting for taxi's. We arrived quite late at night, the Lobby was immaculately clean ...

Review of Ramada Plaza & Inn-New Yorker Hotel, New York City

The Junction - Cambridge

Advantages: Diverse entertainment
Disadvantages: Semi-grim location

(especially when an academic unable to ride a bike runs into you). Another turn south leads into Trumpington Street. The pavements widen and, to paraphrase Clive James, the gutters are larger than your average canal. We walk past the lovely Greek folly that is the Fitzwilliam Museum. The buildings become more Edwardian (but still grand). We could keep going down Trumpington Street, past the Botanical Gardens and the Leys: but let's turn left down Lensfield Road instead. We arrive at the fancifully named Hyde Park Corner, with its lovely church and the splendid municipal grassland of Parker's Piece directly in front. We go right, down the arrow-straightness of Hills Road, past the war memorial at the start of Station Road, and out of town. The first sign that something's gone a bit wrong is the railway bridge you walk over; it looks like ...
