Advantages: Interesting place to be
Disadvantages: can be a bit pricey

Well yes its me back writing again after my holidays in Florida, so I thought why not write about this wonderful Drive which is actually situated some 8 miles from Down Town Orlando. What is International Drive ? It is the one of the Major Tourist road in the Orlando Area (Orange County), just about every major Hotel chain has one or more hotels on International Drive ( called I-Drive by the locals and regulars), in between these hotels there is to be found loads of souvenir shops, Chemists and Restaurants...mainly concentrated in the central area of I-Drive from Seaworld ( at the bottom end ) to Belz Factory Outlet at the top of the central area some 4 miles between the two... The Restaurants are really good family eating places with names like Sizzlers, Ponderosa, Denny's and our favourite 'Golden Coral' offer one price help ...

Review of International Drive

Holiday Inn International, I-Drive, Orlando

Advantages: Slap bang in the middle of International Drive, very family friendly, great pool
Disadvantages: Ground floor rooms around the pool are slightly smaller and older looking

were always cleaned to a high standard. The bedding was changed every 2 or 3 days. The hotel is in the heart of International-Drive, with all the shops, restaurants and attractions that it has to offer, and the trolley bus that runs up and down I-Drive stops virtually outside the hotel. The hotel also runs free transport to and from the major theme parks if you dont want to drive. Wet 'n' Wild Water park is literally a five minute walk down the road, and Universal is no more than a five minute drive away. We could see Universal Studios theme park from our hotel window. In the other direction Seaworld is about a 10 minute drive and all the Disney Parks are about 15-20 minutes away by car. You really dont need to hire a car if you are staying on International Drive and intend to just do the parks. We hired one as we wanted to venture ...

Ramada Inn, International Drive

Advantages: Large comfortable rooms, good views from rooms
Disadvantages: No entertainment, no shuttle service

This was the first hotel we stayed at when we went on holiday to Orlando in 2003, it was then known as the Wellesley Inn but I think changed to Ramada in 2004. It is well situated on International Drive, Orlando for all the attractions and restaurants on this 1 mile long stretch. The room was extremely large with 2 queen sized beds and plenty of space to move around. It had a sectioned off wash area and bathroom with shower over the bath, microwave, safe, fridge, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, desk etc. Unlike some hotel rooms in Orlando the bathroom was a separate room, some of the others had a room with bath/shower and toilet which was lockable, but the washing area was just sectioned off, meaning you had to warn other people in the room that you were about to wash your "bits."
