While touring Germany last year, we wanted to break our journey from Berlin at a convenient spot. But we wanted somewhere we could spend a couple of days and have enough to do. After a bit of research we decided on Goslar, in the Harz mountains.
Rather than staying in an hotel on the old town with some historic character, and ricketty floors, we opted for something more modern in the shape of the Treff Ramada which we managed to book direct for only 53 euros per night room only.
The hotel is situated outside of the old town (1.5km), but it's pretty easy to find as it's only a few junctions from the main highway and well signposted in any case.
It lies within a residential area, but is relatively private as it's set in its own, wooded grounds.

We stayed at the Ramada Treff Baren for 4 nights as part of a tour package and found it to be a clean, modern, comfortable hotel as you would expect from the Ramada chain.
Meals come in the form of a self-service buffet with plenty of choice and excellent quality. The one downside to mealtimes was the potentially long walk from your allocated table to the buffet, in our case out of the room, through the bar then along the full length of the restaurant, then back again, in both directions dodging the other guests going the opposite way. Maybe only full-price guests get to sit near the food.
While this is an excellent base for exploring the Harz Mountains in general, its a bit far out of the centre of Goslar for casually wandering in and out, about 20 minutes walk, mainly uphill, from the centre, though I believe there is ...

The Ramada Encore in Bournemouth is a well placed hotel within walking distance of numerous bars and restaurants as well as the beach and surroundings attractions. At the time of writing there are over 70 Ramada hotels in the UK.
ARRIVAL AND CHECK IN
The hotel was easy enough to spot from the main road as it has a large sign in front to indicate its presence. We drove into the car park at the rear of the hotel and managed to find a parking space. There were also guest parking spaces at the front of the hotel and underground parking available with a lift to bring you up to reception. The car park has around 80 spaces.
