ACCOMODATION
For the traveller on a budget, Vancouver will seem like heaven. There are 3 excellent hostels in Gastown, Downtown and Jericho Beach. I recommend the latter since there can’t be many city hostels offering beach views and acres of grassland for barbeques and frisbee playing in the summer. For the more discerning traveller and families there are options aplenty. Vancouver is a major business town and commonly frequented by celebrities due to its popularity as a filming location so you won’t have trouble finding luxury hotels such as ‘the’ Hotel Vancouver, Pacific Palisades, Hotel Ramada, then if you want something in the middle choose between scores of 2, 3 and 4 star hotels. Be warned though Vancouver is a popular destination so it’s best to book before you arrive.

...INTRODUCTION
It was the first time Ms Larsbaby and myself had been to Vancouver, and without first hand experience of knowing where to stay, we had a look on the net and took this hotel booked for us by the excellent Trailfinders, which was one of their options.
LOCATION
The Century Plaza is pretty much was the heart of the shopping and eating area of downtown on Burrard Street and so is ideally placed for the tourist. This end of Burrard Street had several restaurants and coffee shops, as well as a Market Place supermarket which had lots of excellent foodstuffs as well as a café which serves nice paninis. Just a short walk to the north was Robson Street, which had lots of shops such as Gap & Banana Republic, and a lot of Asian restaurants. There was also an interesting looking hot dog stand very close by which...

...The Ramada Hotel in Calgary (Canada) is a personal favorite, and when in Calgary, I wont stay anywhere else, indeed, I am willing to travel an hour or so just to stay there!
My son loved it too (But not as much as the theme hotel in Edmonton (Different room every night!)
The Ramada Hotel Downtown located in the booming metropolis of Calgary and only one hour from the beautiful Canadian Rockies to the west. Its within walking distance of the local attractions, city businesses and the shopping malls nearby.
The hotel advertises as having 200 rooms, but it has 201, strange, but true!
IMAGINE THIS
As you walk through the doors from the street, you are met by immaculate cleanliness, and a high standard of service, as you can expect with the Ramada group.
Often, as the cab pulls up outside, a doorman opens the cab door...
