, the automotive museum and the aerospace museum and gardens as well as SanDiego Zoo. The parks Spanish architecture is gorgeous and reminded me of a recent visit to southern spain. This is worth a visit even if you don't intend to visit the museums. I'm not a huge museum fan and so decided to skip this and instead spend the time roaming the gardens (some of which have an entry charge of around $3). I would particularly recommend the Alcazar gardens modelled on some of the gardens in Southern spain and the Desert Garden with it's interesting variety of cacti. I also recommend visiting the zoo famous for its conservation work.
3. Old Town State Park
This is like a mini mexico with cute little markets selling crafts and some decent Mexican restaurants.
4. SeaWorld
This is great for a visit if you have kids to see the star of the place ...
Advantages: A great day out for all the family Disadvantages: The shows were timed too close together
and the majority enabled you to see the park in it's entirety. The facilities were good and there were lots of places to eat and drink.
We did not see all of SeaWorld on our one day there but I doubt you could get two full days out of it. I found it an extremely good quality excursion and it beat Disney hands down for me. ...

It was the last day of our USA holiday and I wasn't going to leave without seeing the famous California SeaWorld.
It had been a long day already with a morning trip over the border to Tijuana, so it was getting on to 4.30pm when we pulled up at the SeaWorld carpark. It was Sunday afternoon of Memorial Weekend and crowds of people were pouring out of the park with their tired looking kids in tow.
I think we timed it quite well as it turned out as the park seemed less crowded than I had been anticipating.
As this was the beginning of the late night season, we were in for a few hours of fun but didn't think we would be there quite as long as we were. There was just so much to see and do that we found ourselves heading back to the car around 11pm.
We balked a bit at first over the ticket price of $42.50 each ... this is US ...
