Prelude
We have been talking about visiting NYC for many years now and we finally got a chance to see it when we took a family trip to the USA. We decided to first go to my sister in Ohio and spend a few days there. After this we would go to NYC and then go home to Norway from there.
Like most others we felt that we knew the city a bit even if we hadn't been there before. After all, the city is portrayed in so many movies and TV series, it sort ...

Advantages: Great Location, Clean and Friendly Staff Disadvantages: Views from hotel itself not great, no free wi fi
My boyfriend turned 30 a few weeks ago and for his present I booked us a trip to NewYork and the Wellington Hotel is where I picked for us to stay due to its central location in Manhattan.
Last Wednesday we flew out to NYC and checked into the Wellington.
If you didn't know already this is where part of the Borat film was made, the main scene being where he tries to unpack his things in the lift thinking its his room and so many Borat jokes ensued in the elevators during our stay.
The location of the hotel is amazing, its a 1 minute walk from Carnegie Hall, 2 minutes from Central Park and 5 minutes from Times Square and is located on the corner of 55th Street and 7th Avenue. The placement of the hotel was my favourite thing about it as it was just so easy to walk to some of the city's best attractions from here.
When we checked in ...
Advantages: Fabulous shopping, bargains, great sights Disadvantages: You will be tired and have foot pain at the end of the trip
Ever since I was a teenager I had always wanted to go to NewYorkCity. It was probably the influence of TV shows such as Friends and Will & Grace but since then I've always wanted to see what life in the big apple was like.
There's the shopping (my number one priority!), the sights, the shows, the food, the list is endless.
I was nearly 25 when I finally made it over there, as part of a family trip with my mum, dad and sister.
I'd never been on an aeroplane for longer than two hours before, and I'm quite a nervous flyer, but the seven hours on Continental Flight CO21 from Manchester to Newark, New Jersey absolutely flew by (pardon the pun)!
Other friends and colleagues who had travelled to America previously had said about the lines at immigration so as soon as we landed everyone was ready and we walked as fast as we ...
