Advantages: Clean large room Disadvantages: Have to pay for parking and breakfast.
On my last trip to LosAngeles, I decided to investigate the Howard Johnson chain of hotels. I decided to book into their Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel on Wilshire Blvd in LosAngeles.
From their internet website, I had a choice of 2 double beds, 1 queen bed or a king bed. They also provided both smoking and non-smoking rooms. I decided to book myself the non-smoking room with the king bed (I always wanted to know the difference between a king and a queen bed!).
[Check-in]
Arriving at the hotel, the checkin was relatively simple. A proof of identification with the passport, confirming my reservation, I was soon handed a keycard and off I went to investigate my room in the hotel.
[Room]
The room was large and spacious. On entering the room, there was a mushy scent because the aircon was not switched on. A contraption attached to ...
Advantages: Didn't stay long enough to find out... Disadvantages: Intimidating for first time visitors.
along La Cienega up to West Hollywood, where our Ramada Hotel was waiting for us. One peculiar feature was that all the furniture in the reception was made out of glass, so on your way across to the elevators, you keep whacking your shins on virtually invisible coffee tables.

Advantages: Close to Beveley Hills Disadvantages: Location is a bit dodge....Dont go out at night without a bodyguard!!
I stayed in this hotel in October 2000 for only 1 night, and to be honest it was one night too long.I dont really believe it was the hotels fault, it was LA I didnot like.If the hotel had been in a different surrounding area I might off been happy. The hotel is on Wilshire Blvd whcih itself is a nightmare. This road is always bumper to bumper with traffic and makes getting into the hotel an nightmare.
The car has a small amount of valet car parking, which you can get into from the side of the hotel. The hotel itself was a fairly standard looking building and one which I would rate as a lower three star or maybe as a higher two star if I was being nasty.
The hotel had a dingy atmosphere, and maybe was a decent hotel in its past, but not now.The check in desks was small with only three counters, this however would not have normally been ...
