I spent one day at the Ratanga Junction Theme Park and it was one of the best days of my 10-day holiday in Cape Town. For about R100 (around £9) for the entry fare for that day, you can have unlimited access to all the rides, except for the SlingShot. If you spend the whole day there, from the opening to the closing times, you can easily go on each ride 2-3 times. One thing to note is that some rides might not be operational due to maintenance, for instance.

There are a wide range of rides to please everyone and to suit everybody's "thrill-supporting" level! The most scary ride I found was The Cobra, and as it's name suggests, it is a 779 m ride that reaches speeds up to 100km/h. One interesting feature is that your legs are suspended and this adds to the effect of feeling off the ground!!!

The water rides are fantastic too and on a hot sunny day, you won't mind ending up soaked! The Monkey Falls and the Crocodile Gorge are both great, though I particularly liked the Monkey Falls!

Other rides are also interesting, such as the Congo Queen which is like a huge swing and at some points, you end up being nearly perpendicular to the ground. One ride involves rotating teacups and rotating saucers, and you are inside the teacup and contolling your own speed of rotation. A nice experience if you are not too afraid of vertigo.

There are also many rides for kids and the park is overall suitable for all the family. Shows and live entertainment are nice relaxing moments inbetween your rides. Magic shows and the snake shows are popular with children and adults alike.

After all the adrenalin-packed adventures, the park also has a nice food court to take a break. There is also photographic services if you want to take back home the nice souvenirs and funny pictures of you getting terrified on the rides :)
