Garden View Rooms, Beach Chalets and Family Chalets will be closed for refurbishment. A new Lobby & Coffee House will be relocated near the poolside. Work is scheduled to be completed by 30 November 2006. Whilst no effort will be spared by the Hotel to make our guest's stay a pleasant and comfortable one, please bear with the hotel for any inconvenience caused by this work. 15 minutes away from paradise Powdery white beaches. Lush green forests. Inviting blue waters. Marvel at the wonders of mystical Langkawi (lang-kah-wee). Bathed by the sun, cooled by the gentle breezes and lush tropical forests surroundings. A sanctuary on its south western tip, Pulau Rebak is our own private island. Measuring 390 acres, Pulau Rebak is one of the 99 legendary isles that make up internationally-known Langkawi, Malaysia's most popular tourist-lesisure destination. The resort offers seafaring adventures and jungles discoveries for a holiday that's intriguing and refreshing. Just 15 minutes away, Pulau Rebak is accessible by boat from Port Langkasuka jetty point. Regular flights serve daily from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Pulau Pinang to Langkawi.
Advantages: tropical, duty free Disadvantages: boring, no night life
...arrive at the main jetty, you will see the big monument of the eagle. It's beautiful.
Town
---------
The main town in Langkawi is Kuah town, there you can find all sorts of duty free items and souveniors. Important note to tourists is that make sure you bargain for the items. You really don't want to be ripped off in Langkawi. Compare prices before you buy because most shops sell the same things, and many shop owners own the same shops just few doors away, so be careful.
Nightlife
------------
The nightlife in Langkawi is absolutely dead. Most ppl stay in their hotel and enjoy the beach if you are in a resort. My personal recommendation during the night would be to go to Pantai Cenang and enjoy the breeze, while enjoying a cheap pint of beer bought from one of the duty free shops in Kuah during the afternoon.

Advantages: A beautiful, scenic, and peaceful island Disadvantages: Not many shops
...We flew to Langkawi as part of a 3 centre holiday to the far east,it was a short flight from Phuket in Thailand. As we got off the plane, the heat once again surrounded us,we were picked up and taken on a short ride through small villages, untill we came to our home for the next 10 nights, the Berjaya resort on the north west corner of the island. The resort is large ,and alot of the 300+ chalets are situated way back in the jungle. We were very lucky, our chalet was near the front of the resort ,over-looking the sea.We unpacked, and went out exploring,we had seen pictures of the beach, but it is much nicer than we had expected, quite along, broad expance of sand, and turquiose/green sea. From the beach you can look up and see the mountains, and the dreaded cable car[i have a fear of heights!!!].The cable car is a new tourist attraction, that was only...

...Nowhere else in south-east Asia is the transformation from old to new more stark. Malaysia is split between the tribal jungles of Borneo and the hi-tech industries of Kuala Lumpur, home to the world's tallest building, the Petronas Towers. The holiday islands of Langkawi, Penang and Tioman are just off the mainland Peninsular Malaysia and easy to reach. The rest of the peninsular, especially Melacca, is also worth exploring. But don't get your highlands mixed up - Cameron Highlands is a relaxing, countryside retreat, while Genting Highlands is a brash and tacky gambling resort. Malaysia is a bargain for visitors. It is Tropical, hot and steamy. Monsoon rains hit different parts of the country at different times....
