Advantages: Location, rooms Disadvantages: Availability, lack of loyalty/points scheme
...I first visited the Chiswick MoranHotel in July 2006 when it first opened, as I'd just begun working in Brentford about a mile from the hotel and it fast became my favourite hotel in the area. Since then i've stayed there probably in excess of 150 nights over the last 2 years.
The Hotel
The hotel is part of a small chain owned by an Irish family which has other hotels in Central London and Dublin. As I mentioned above, the hotel itself is relatively new, having been open just over 2 years, and its taken some time and had its teething problems, but I think they've got things just about right now. Each room is very modern, with thick pile carpets, designer lamps, bright colours, and everything is very clean. There are lots of rooms designed to fit all sorts of needs, from standard double rooms, twin rooms, family rooms...

Advantages: Cheap, great food, great leisure facilities, Disadvantages: Located away from shops, bars and restaurants
...there from the hotel. It also attracts a lot of people from the building sites nearby (as this area is in development) as well as locals. So there are plenty of people to meet and it is definitely worth a drink on your way to Temple Bar. And have a vodka and red lemonade!
This is a great hotel, I guess the only thing that would put people off is the location if you can't or don't like walking. But as this area is being developed I am sure bars and restaurants will pop up down the river too. I would recommend it to everyone from business people, groups, families and couples. I will return to this hotel on my next visit to Dublin....

Advantages: Excellent Dublin base with good service Disadvantages: None really
...Booking:
For the second day of my short, last-minute trip to Dublin, I really needed to be in the centre of the city as I had a lot of stuff to do and so it made sense to complete my quest to stay in 3 Hilton hotels during December and January and claim my free £50 Visa card as a reward, by staying at the Hilton HotelDublin: http://www1.hilton.com/enUS/hi/hotel/DUBDUHN-Hilton-Dublin-hotel/index.do
As usual I went into the Hilton website - http://hhonors.hilton.com via Quidco in order to get my 6% cashback. I do recommend becoming a member of HiltonHonors because of the occasional little perks it can give you, please read further for more details. My booking went through OK and speedily as usual, and I was pleased to see that despite booking only 2 days before arrival, I was able to bag a Queen-size bedded room...
