Red Hot All You Can Eat Buffet (Sixfields, Northampton) does exactly what it says on the tin. It's a buffet and you can eat until you burst with food selections from Chinese, Thai, Indian and Mexican. As a person who enjoys a good meal out with quality food, this was ok overall.
The quality of the food was middling, seemed to be lots of chicken dishes which were fine but I prefer a bit more variety like lamb or prawn. The starters were good though, plenty of variety there and definitely something for everyone.
It was quite crowded at the time I was there, and it did feel limited on space with people squashed together - so ok, maybe I should have expected this but I do like to be able to push my chair back a few inches without hitting the person behind me or feeling like the people next to me were listening to my conversation! Having said that, the place was nicely decorated and clean. Do book though if you're going on a weekend and be prepared for it to be busy. If you're taking children and it is very busy, be ready to carry their plate for them so they don't get bumped and drop it.
The staff were ok, got the job done but would have liked a bit more of a smile (it costs nothing!) and some did seem unsure of their jobs, in particular the bar staff. We had to ask twice for drinks and for the bill.
I would go again, probably with friends as a fun night out when it's more about the people than the food.

You don't mention whether you went at lunch time or in the evening. The lunch buffet is much cheaper and has a more restricted range of dishes so that may be why you found a lot of chicken.
