Advantages: Friendly and Comfortable Disadvantages: In need of some updating
...My wife and I stayed in this hotel in Summer 2006 and had very little to fault. Our main reason for choosing this hotel was that it accepted dogs and our dog could not have been made more welcome.
On check in we were issued with a Doggy Welcome pack that had details of walks from the hotel and what dogs were allowed and not allowed to do at the hotel. All of this written by the owner of the hotel's dog (Very Clever!!!), In addition to this, the staff on reception always had a dog biscuit everytime we came down to leave the hotel.
The room was very spacious with a separate TV viewing area and a whirlpool bath (a superior room). The whirlpool bath was very welcome after a days walking in the traditional lake district weather!
There is a bar in the hotel but for more atmosphere the pub attached to the side of the hotel is very cosy...

Advantages: Relatively undisturbed, peaceful and clean Disadvantages: none in my opinion
...Having heard countless stories from my friend of the beauty of the Red Sea we decided to book a holiday and went for the quieter, less known resort of Taba Heights.
We stayed at the Marriot Beach Resort Hotel, and it was abolutely stunning, rated as 5* its the best 5* star I have ever stayed at. The beach was literally on the site, and across the water you could see the lights from Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
The hotel had its own private beach and it was possible to literally walk chest deep into the Red Sea and reach the first coral reef and watch the fish through the clear waters. I took my two young children out with their snorkels and although not strong swimmers yet they were safe as I, at a mere 5ft3, could still reach the sea bed. It was a great experience for them and they saw a wide variety of fish from eels, lion fish, angel...

Advantages: Ease of use, good offers Disadvantages: Inconsistent
...The Hanover International Hotel chain only have hotels in the UK (well actually having checked the locations it is only England and Wales).
They have 14 Hotels in Skipton, Huddersfield, Scunthorpe, Ashbourne, Hinckley, Daventry, Dunstable, Harpenden, Cardiff Bay, Bromsgrove, Reading, Basingstoke, Chewton(Bristol) and Eynsham (Oxford). The hotels are all 3 or 4 stars and 'most' of the ones I have visited are very good.
All have good facilities such as pools, saunus, gyms, and most offer good business facilities as well.
The standards of hotel and service vary quite a lot across the hotel chain so it pays to check out each hotel prior to any visit.
For example, the Hinckley hotel is a very large modern and impersonal hotel. The staff are reasonable, the restaurant is passable and the facilities are excellent. Compare...
