It is ever so easy to forget that you are in the middle of a bustling city when you are at a place like Regents Park,which was once part of King HenryVIII's hunting forest in the 16 th century.
Regents Park is centrally located in a very attractive part of Central London and is close to a variety of other world class attractions such as London Zoo, Madame Tussauds,the Planetarium, and the Sherlock Holmes Museum. The nearest underground station to the park is Baker Street and plenty of buses ply the route from the West End.
There is actually a lot to see and do in this gorgeous,verdant,expanse. You can walk,jog,run,take your dog for a walk, eat your sandwiches,have an afternoon picnic, have a cup of cappucinno in one of the cafes and restaurants, gaze at the flowers, listen to music at the bandstand, feed the ducks and admire all the other waterbirds on the pond.
You can also watch outdoor performances,go boating,hire a cycle,play soccer, and take your kids to the children's playground. The Queen Mary Rose Garden attracts a lot of visitors who ooh and ah as they gaze at all the wonderful flowers. There is the Heron Island and its no wonder that bird watchers just love Regents Park.
You can rent a boat or a bicycle and whether it is active or passive recreation you are after, this lovely ,beautifully maintained green oasis can accommodate your needs. There is really something for everyone at Regents Park,so it is not surprising it is so popular with resident Londoners,provincial visitors to the capital and foreign tourists. It is virtually impossible on a warm sunny day not to like andthoroughly enjoy a visit to Regents Park.

I had to organise an event at Regents Park recently which meant many, many planning visits!! I must now be qualified as a Park guide! The standards throughout the park are excellent, from the lawns and wonderful floral displays to the many cafes, all well maintained by friendly, helpful staff. Its a great day our for all the family with lots to occupy you. Feeding the ducks and the very cheeky tame squirrels provides hours of entertainment, there ... ...bandstand, the open air theatre, children's playgrounds, the heron island and of course the beautiful flowers - there are often special events advertised throughout the park or details from the main park office in the Inner Circle. We were lucky enough to be in the Queen Marys Rose gardens which as it sounds has the most gorgeous display of roses you could imagine with hundreds if not thousands of fragrant roses (yes they actually do have a fragrance ...

A glorious way to spend a summer afternoon with something for everyone. Seems to be the tourist's idea of London. The open air theatre is fantastic and of course there is the Zoo for children, now I believe with more attractions than ever. The park considering the number of people in it provided space and a chance to get away from crowds elsewhere in London. It was also relatively litter free again a pleasant surprse these days. Advantages: Great in the summer, peaceful Disadvantages: Can be bad for hayfever sufferers
There is a section of Regents Park that is really beautiful. It's the rose garden section and it looks great in summer. A lot of people who have registry weddings go there to take their photo's. Just around the corner from this section is the duck pond which has to large swans aswell, one white and the other black. To the right of the pond is a long path that goes behind some bushes, keep following that path and it will take you up onto an open space ...

Dispite the dreadful weather, if there is a dry day the Open Air Theatre in Regents Park is a wonderful place to visit. The Park itself is an excellent place to wander around and have a lazy afternoon. This year the programme seems interesting with A Mid Summers Nights Dream and Alice in Wonderland being part of the session. Don't forget there is London Zoo close by, as are Madame Tausauds and the Planetarium. And not very far is the Wallace Colletion ...

Celebrating twenty-one years of marriage we decided to visit London (one of my favourite places), and this time decided to stay the side of London we weren?t so familiar with near Regentspark. Checking online we picked the Marriott hotel RegentsPark. Set in King Henry?s Road NW3 the hotel contains 303 rooms set on seven floors. Each room the hotel boats has air-conditioning, & balcony.
Arriving two hours prior to our agreed check in time we were pleasantly surprised to find our room was available. Travelling by lift to the fourth floor, we soon found our room. Entering the room you are faced with a decent sized room with two double beds, two arm chairs, a writing table (along with chair) and of course the obligatory TV and drawers/wardrobe.
