This hotel modestly claims two stars and while the rooms are basic, they are clean and comfortably furnished and in my opinion this hotel could easily be three star property. The location is excellent, idealy situated between the Herengracht and the Singel canals, near Dam square and approximately ten minutes from the Central Train ... ...to almost floor windows adorned with heavy curtains that make the room incredibly cosy for those who need to block out the light! The windows open and are kept in place with a wooden batton, I initially found this difficult as the windows are heavy!
Ask for a room on the canal if you want to watch people going past or see the lights and moon shining on the water though I presume this could be noiser in the busy season.
