Call me old-fashioned, but we knew this was going to be good when we spotted a bowl of miniature Toblerones sitting at reception.
The hotel is located in Holburn, on the edge of the business district, and is around 10 minutes walking to Oxford Circus/Covent Garden. The tube station, literally around the corner, is on the central line to Oxford Circus too.
The room was beautiful. Not minimalist like a lot of places with gimmicky 'young and hip' mission statements, but beautiful, relaxing and realitively old-fashioned. I mean that in the feel of the room and not the decor or the furnishings, all of which were pristine.
The marble bathroom had an incredibly powerful shower, along with a larger than average bath.
The only drawback was the view - our room over-looked an office building. We did check in at around 11pm though, and as the hotel has a courtyard in the middle, as well as facing High Holburn, I think we were just relatively unlucky.
All in all, a great stay. A word of warning though, while it might be fine to stroll to the shops during the day, we found the trek back from clubs pretty draining at night when we couldn't find taxis. There are a few pubs nearby, but most of these are pretty run-down, and don't have late licences.
