cheap hotel in glasgow

**** Argyll Hotel**** **Location/Getting there** This hotel isn't dead central in Glasgow as you have to walk for quite a while down Sauchiehall street but it is a great budget hotel to stay in if you are planning to go to the SECC.They even have maps to help you get from the hotel to the SECC and it only takes about 15 minutes to walk it. **Reception/staff** The hotel isn't that glamourous or anything but the staff are always very helpful and friendly. You get the feeling that they like their job which is nice instead of having a scowling member of staff. **Hotel/Room** Pretty much every time i have stayed in this hotel i have had the same room. Its pretty standard as rooms go .It is always very clean and tidy,it has a kettle and some biscuits. The shower is okay. They always give us plenty of pillows . **Other** They ...

Review of Argyll Hotel, Glasgow

Campanile Hotel, Glasgow

Advantages: nice rooms
Disadvantages: nothing major

After deciding to take a trip to Glasgow for a few days, my husband and I set out to find a good value hotel. After looking at the usual Travelodges and Premier Travel Inns, we came across the Campanile hotel which is like the French version of Travelodge. It was 52 pounds a night and had a secure car park, something which we found very good as parking in Glasgow tends to be quite expensive. Although the price was good we decided to shop around and managed to book 3 nights for 122 pounds on Expedia. The location of the hotel was very good as it was in the newly upgraded and developed area near the SECC and surrounding the hotel was luxury apartments, the new Clyde Arc bridge, the new STV and BBC Scotland studios and the SECC and Glasgow Science Centre. It was 20 minutes walking to the Kelvingrove Art Museum and the Transport ...

Glasgow Marriott Hotel: central and funky

Advantages: Another great hotel in the Marriott chain
Disadvantages: No sports facilities

Another Marriott review from me I am afraid as just returned form the Marriott Glasgow Hotel on business! It was the first time that I have stayed at this particular Marriott hotel but again I was very impressed by the standard of the hotel, rooms, staff and cleanliness. Some people have said that these hotels are expensive compared with other brands but I think that it is worth paying a littel bit more as with Marriott you always get excellent, comfortbale hotels with very good staff who always go that extra mile to hepl guests to feel at home. This is not the nicest looking Marriott from the outisde as it is a bit of a 70s building but it's much better once you get inside! Location: The hotel is very easy to get to by car and is just a few minutes drive off the M8 motorway. It then only takes about 5 or 10 minutes to walk ...
