In the words of the writer himself, Jonathon Larson, “Rent is about a community celebrating life, in the face of death and AIDS at the turn of the century”. This pop/rock musical is a modern take on Puccini’s opera, La Boheme, replacing the 19th Century threat of tuberculosis ... Read review

Advantages: Really uplifting and positive with great songs Disadvantages: Quite edgy- might offend some
...start fidgeting/ falling asleep!)
Rent is currently playing at The Nederlander theatre on Broadway (tickets priced $20-$85) and has recently finished a nationwide UK tour. Hopefully we’ll see it back on the West End soon!
The official site for the show is www.siteforrent.com and there are loads of unofficial sites run by fans (which generally don’t tend to be very good!) ...

Advantages: top songs and top performances Disadvantages: Adam Rickitt wears too many clothes!
...glamorous surroundings of Leicester.
Rent is currently on tour across the UK. It's a musical and covers two main issues - the impact of AIDS and the 1980s New York rent riots. However it is one of those shows where it doesn't really pay dividends to concentrate on the plot, you are much better off switching your brain off and enjoying the ride.
The story focuses around Mark (Adam Rickitt), a filmmaker, and his flatmate Roger (Damien Flood), a rock ... ...as they protest over spiralling rent costs and suffer from the impact of HIV and AIDS.
Sounds cheery, eh? Well, it's not as depressing as it sounds, and even though Rent deals with a lot of serious issues it never gets weighed down in melancholy or over-sentimental claptrap. There is always a rousing "Things Can Only Get Better"-type anthem just around the corner. There are a lot of strong ballads throughout the show, but these are equally matched ...

Advantages: Fun, Great songs, a classic Disadvantages: Not for eerybodies taste
Great show!!!!!!! This was he first ever show i went to see when i first moved over to NYC so it holds a special place in my heart and also because it was mine and my boyfriends first date so to speak!!! awwww! lol
Its a very explosive show with one very very cathcy song "500, 25,000, 600 minutes..........." or at least there the words i sing! and with the entire cast singing the song it really blows you away and makes a real impact.
With set and ... ...80's which is what they were going for and really acheived it. th set being quite basic but effective, it was it needed to be for the show it really was on the actors to pull out the performance because unlike alot of braodway shows they didn't have a big, impressive moving set to help guide them along. All kinds of stars have come and gone through this show, most not known to the Uk audience but big in america.
With simplistic style yet cntroversial ...

...I rented BUDGET car while i was on a trip to medical conference. We agreed on price as decided, however on my return they charged me price almost double the price adding this and that charge that they did not mentioned a bit about. Two of their staff lied saying that they have menoned thus i have no option just pay. I always rented my car at budget but now i decided i never rent again. Anyway this corporation is in down fall with many consumer complains. Guess they defenitely deserve this. As a consumer we have option to choose where to go when we renting. Now no matter of what even i pa more i will go some wherelse. As a professional an helping many other in my field, just feel i have got cheated, mistreated and found no value for the money i spend....

Advantages: very good insurance cover Disadvantages: more expensive, unless you haggle
...I have rented from Avis several several times in several countries. The services is mostly good, the cars in my experience have been good and reliable and with low mileage, although not many types to choose from. Their price is usually higher than most other car rentals, however their insurance is usually better. I have never been charged for stone damage, bumps or scrapes like you get with other companies that state they have English style fully comprehensive and then say you didn't read the small print when you get a second bill. Avis usually deliver the car to your hotel and collect it when you are done. One thing that you do have to do when renting from Avis is haggle on the price, they will charge you more than you need to pay if you let them....
