Marseille - culture - climate =beau

Advantages: Gorgeous Climate, Beautiful Culture, Picture moment Scenaries
Disadvantages: driving(?)

) In Orange we also took a pic with the arc de triumph. Food there is excellent, like we have hot dog stands - icecream vans, there they have pizza vans - and i must say the pizzas were absolutely delicious and very different to what we are used to here (much thinner/crispier). In marseille they love their fish dishes, which are pretty good. Its important to note that marseille has a natural culture. That is why you wont really find packaged holidays to marseille, (a bit touristy) you would mostly arrange your own visits there, but its still a great experience in my opinion. A nice hotel with swimming pool may cost just under 100 pounds a night. There are places just outside Marseille worth visiting, the shakespeare thing for example and a place i went to called Toulon (largest opera house after paris) During my journeys ...

Review of Marseille

A COMPLETE GUIDE TO MARSEILLE

Advantages: Cheaper than England, great food, easy to get to, friendly people
Disadvantages: High crime rate, polluted (aren't all big cities??!?) Its French (Lol)

different to any other cathedral. Though I don't know of any other city having the cathedral overlooking the city. But this is a must visit if your in Marseille if only just to see the view. And don't forget your camera like I did!! The postcards for sale are of poor quality and are a rip-off! The other big tourist attraction of Marseille is Le Chateau D'if is a tiny island just off Marseille that is unspoilt and untouched. There is quite a long story to it, to put it short it was used as a prison or something a few centuries ago but you'll find all about that when you visit. To get there you need to take a ferry from Marseille, which takes around 30 minutes. ~~ Eating out in Marseille is cheap and easy. French cafes are cheap and usually pleasant, at lunchtime a croque-monsieur can be got for £3 or £4, which is a simple ham and cheese ...

Review of Marseille (France)

Marseille

Advantages: An interesting Vieux Port (old port) area, good accommodation options nearby
Disadvantages: A noticeably high crime rate, not a great deal to see outside the port and coast areas

to find a store that sold bottled water only aggravated matters. Two churches, none of which were particularly spectacular in comparison with others we had visited, were noted on our aimless wanderings. One of them I remembered from two years ago: whitewashed and suitably grand, but also closed to the public this time around. In the end, we could have more profitably spent our time walking along the coast – a relaxing promenade I had undergone in 1999 – to more aptly capture the spirit of the Riviera. This would, at any rate, have been more enjoyable than our walk through slums, which we had been subjected to after an abortive attempt to regain the comforts of our hotel, without the aid of public transportation, or a particularly good sense of direction. We did not, of course, expect a wealth of amazing sights to see in ...
