**** The Meadows Today ****
The meadows changes with the seasons. In winter it is much quieter with the occasional dog walker and people passing through on their way to/from town.
Spring is my favourite time to visit the meadows. There are crocuses which just grow up through the ground and add bursts of colour everywhere. But the best bit is the beautiful pink and white cherry blossom of the trees which line the paths which intersect the meadows, it looks just lovely.
Summer brings the people out from the surrounding tenements to make the most of the sunshine. Students lie on the grass, studying ...

Advantages: Fast lifts, no queues, Champagne Powder, huge area for all levels Disadvantages: Loud and lairy locals. Long journey to get there. American beer.
I visited SteamboatSprings (SMB) in Dec 00 because I have a friend working there. It was my first experience of a winter sports holiday in the US and I was looking forward to it. All the rumours of high quality snow, fast lifts, minimal queues and great apres-ski had me salivating at the prospect!
I was fortunate to get an cheap low-season flight over to Denver and then I hired a car to get me the 3 hours up to SMB. Next time, I'll probably fly straight in to SMB - I'll explain why later. As I said, I was visiting friends so I had no worries about accomodation although I'm told it can be quite a shock to the wallet if you aren't on a package trip.

A place where the England Football Team come back time and time again to be pampered, a place that celebrities are often seen relaxing in. So when I felt last week very stressed and in need of 24hrs complete relaxation I couldn?t think of a better place to go. I had never been to Champneys Springs before and so was very excited as to what it would be like and wondering whether I might bump into a celebrity on my stay there. The resort is situated out in the countryside of Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire.
