Mogotes & Mojitos

Advantages: The land, the sky, the music, the cocktails
Disadvantages: Having to come home

a quick word about Los Jazmines. For the size & setting see Insight Guide?s Cuba: section on Pinar Del Rio. It is unpretentious. The food is adequate, the band you can do without, the service is good. The setting is stunning, & it has its charms. In the evenings we came home to little notes from our chamber maids wishing us love & luck?banish those cynical thoughts: for we also came home to exquisite bath-towel origami: pink lotus flowers, or swans, or abstracts?Thank you: Dora, Maible & Anieskal. ~ TRANSFER DAYS Vinales back to Havana was an easy day of light travelling. We call in at the Biosphere Reserve?trees and flowers, a couple of snakes, too many tourists, a tree-creeper, a hummingbird, not enough quiet. Fun And Games At The OK Hostal

Advantages: Centrally located, and cheap
Disadvantages: Budget, and it shows

Feeling like another holiday, and deciding that 5 days before my uni exams was *the* best time to go, I easyjetted off to Barcelona for a short break. I wanted to go to Rome, but boyfriend at the time decided to tag along and wanted somewhere served by a budget airline so Barcelona it was. That is why boyfriend at the time is boyfriend no longer, and why new boyfriend handily works in travel and thinks nothing of suggesting exotic long haul destinations as places to holiday, but that's another op. We decided to go about a month before departure, so I crawled the net for a week or so and came up with the Hostal del Mar (Hotel of the Sea).
