Meester, U Want Shufti? Japanese Rolexes Inside
Review of Agadir (Morocco) by
BNibbles
Advantages: Good centre for other outings
Disadvantages: Totally lacking in character
...I had to look up Agadir on the map* – I knew where Morocco was, but it has an Atlantic AND a Mediterranean coast, depending on where you are in relation to the Straits of Gibraltar.
*I have a little woman who books all this stuff!
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Our primary destination, Agadir, is firmly on the Atlantic side, being only a hundred miles or so from the Canary Islands. Anyone familiar with the Easter weather in Gran Canaria will realise that ...

Agadir - Avoid
Review of Agadir (Morocco) by
kimera999
Advantages: It was warmer than England
Disadvantages: I prefer to be cold
...returned for a week in Agadir and I am compelled to share by experience, where shall I start? I booked it last minute and new hotels where being built, I can deal with the noise. I dont moan about accomdation because if its clean and has a shower Im happy. (it was clean and had sort of a shower)
Well, in no particular order here are the good points:
The operation of the airport is very efficient
Now to the bad points, in no particular order:

Essaouira far more enjoyable than Agadir.
Review of Agadir (Morocco) by
jema_00
Advantages: Cheap and Sunny
Disadvantages: Harasment and over charging so very comming.
My friend and I chose to go to Morocco as it was cheap and we were poor students in need of some sun! I have to admit that we did not really do our research about where we were going, if we had I think that I would have thought twice, although this story does have a happy ending!
We started in Agadir, the hotel was okay, we had a clean and fair sized rooms overlooking the pool. I had been to Tunisia about 3 years before I had expected Morocco to ...

Agadir
Review of Agadir (Morocco) by
rustifer
Advantages: Great markets and food
Disadvantages: Harrassment from locals depending on time of year you go
...acquired taste. I went to Agadir with my mum for a 2 week break (leaving from Glasgow) during the month of December. I chose to go then because I knew it would be a bit quieter.
It was my second visit to Morocco, the first having been to the north in the early 80s with my identical twin sister. As my twin and I are both red heads that caused quite a stir among the locals who would constantly ask us if we'd dyed our hair with Henna (and why we ...

Agadir AgaDO
Review of Agadir (Morocco) by
lizbizi
Advantages: beautiful,different,friendly,easy to get around.cheap.
Disadvantages: the water, always buy bottled and use it even for cleaning your teeth
...different culture like myself then Agadir should be on your must visit list.
I visited in October half-term week {yes more expensive because the flight operator added a £100 supplement to the flight cost, disgraceful, but as i work in a school my holidays have to be outside term time}.
I was to stay in the all inclusive hotel Agador, part of the Caribbean Village which also shares it's grounds with two other hotels.
The complex boasted three swimming ...

Review of Agadir (Morocco) by

Advantages: see text
Disadvantages: see text
...them, the notorious town of Agadir in Morocco. Given that we visited some ten years ago, the following criticism may seem inappropriate save for the fact the problem is metereological. (There were other problems - general untidiness, poor food, openly leering behaviour of the male population, noise and pollution, but hey, a decade of round the clock infrastructure improvements, attitudinal correction for the youths of the town and environmental controls ...

Agadir - July 2005 / Tagadirt Hotel
Review of Agadir (Morocco) by
MogNog
Advantages: Friendly people, great weather, nice cheap food.
Disadvantages: none
...is little to buy in Agadir but the leather goods - handbags, jackets etc are well worth a look as there are some fantastic quality products and a very good price!!
If you are looking for a home-from-home Agadir is not the place for you, there are no English bars and breakfast 'as we know it' is difficult to come across and usually consists of pastries, pancakes and omelets. If you are looking for a multi-cultural, quiet, relaxing holiday this will ...

Aga-dire
Review of Agadir (Morocco) by
tamara
Advantages: none
Disadvantages: It is horrible, bland, boring - need I go on?
Morroco is great but never go to Agadir. Don't believe the holiday brochures which say what a wonderful beach resort it is. It is true it does have a beach, but the whole place has about as much Morrocan flavour as Skegnes.
It does however, boast a sardine canning factory and lots of 'lovely' naff hotels that try desparately to sustain a 'good place to be' image but fail miserably.
Everyone in our hotel (Hotel Kamal) couldn't wait to go home. ...

Tactics for Agadir!
Review of Agadir (Morocco) by
Mens
Advantages: Beautiful weather, Fantastic Wine, Fun
Disadvantages: Overtly pushy shopkeepers
...unorganised. Once landed in Agadir airport, were ferried into the Arrivals lounge, where we queued to get stamped in.
Our Panorama rep was there to greet us, a very helpful man named Hassan, who reminded me slightly of the policeman of "Allo Allo".
We were given a porter to take our bags to the bus, where we were promptly told by himself to give him english money - the tone of things to come.
Accomodation - Igoudar Apartments, 20 Aout Street
Arriving ...

MADNESS IN MORROCO
Review of Agadir (Morocco) by
blondie18
Advantages: morroco has an inspiring culture, the weather is beautiful.
Disadvantages: the locals are likely to hassle you especially if you have blonde hair!
I VISITED AGADIR, MORROCO AGED 17, NOW A FEW YEARS HAVE PASSED AND ONLY NOW CAN I APPRECIATE WHAT I ENCOUNTERED WHILST THERE ON HOLIDAY.
I CAN REMEMBER BEING VERY EXCITED IN EXPERIENCING A COMPLETLY DIFFERENT CULTURE TO THE NORMAL HOLIDAYS LIKE USA OR SPAIN ETC WITH THE FAMILY.
I WAS SHOCKED WITH THE LIVING CONDITIONS AS WE TOOK A TAXI RIDE TO OUR HOTEL FROM THE AIRPORT. THE IMAGES OF CARDBOARD CITY I HAD IN MY MIND BECAME REALITY AS WE DROVE THROUGH ...

MOROCCO FOR ME
Review of Agadir (Morocco) by
maureenhastie
Advantages: friendly hot cheap
Disadvantages: none
...second time I went to Agadir we could not get to stay at the same hotel as it was being renovated and the only deal we could get at a good price was self catering at the issadour apartments.
This was last May and it cost us £270 each.nother deal we found on teletext we had never fancied self catering but because we really wanted to go to Morocco we decided to give it a try ,we where not impressed by where we stayed we had to walk three long flights ...

Agadir or Not
Review of Agadir (Morocco) by
Allman
Advantages: Good climate, relatively cheap
Disadvantages: High pester factor outside the hotels
...probably just as well, because Agadir itself left a lot to be desired. The only visit to the beach found us swamped with Moroccans offering everything from drinking water to Henna tatoos. My friend and I spent the vast majority of the time in the hotel complex, partly because of the friendly, but persistant pestering that we encountered the second we set foot out of the hotel. Before you know it you can be dragged into a shop and asked to bargin for ...

Too many tourists!
Review of Agadir (Morocco) by
FRADUC
Advantages: Cheap to fly there
Disadvantages: Too many tourists
AGADIR is one of the main tourist resorts in Morocco, if not the main one. Herds of tourists arrive every day from Europe on charter flights, and most of them do not venture any further than Agadir, spending their day on the beaches. I did not like Agadir myself, since I found it expensive, and lacking character in comparison to other cities in Morocco. We went to visit what is left of the old casbah, out of the town. The walk is worth itself, but, ...

A Holiday with a something for everyone
Review of Agadir (Morocco) by
MaccyB
Advantages: Something for everyone
Disadvantages: Getting used to their way of shopping
I travelled to Agadir in June on 2000. I have to say that it will take a lot to beat! The beach was fantastic with clean sand and water and wonderful views. The people were very friendly and although they were keen to gain your custom they new when you were not interested and they then left you alone. This was a breath of fresh air, as you will know if you have ever been to a country where the shop keepers approach you to buy things rather wait for ...

Two weeks in Agadir
Review of Agadir (Morocco) by
AustinP
Advantages: Good value; lots to see;
Disadvantages: Constant hasle from local traders.
...signposts poor. Once away from Agadir driving was easy especially in the mountains. Do not bother to go to Torandaunt. Overnight coach trip to Marakesh very good, the hotel and the included Moroccan theme night were both poor but the wine was very good so we drank a botle each. We were dissapointed not to see the Sahara but it was too far, maybe next time.
Overall we left Morocco determined to come again and possibly tour the country. ...
