A little piece of heaven on earth

Advantages: Perfect holiday destination for peace and quiet
Disadvantages: Not so good if you want to dance the night away.

...a little villa just outside Aghios Stefanos, and I thought I'd see what other ciao'ers thought about it. Well there are only two other reviews, and niether seem to be over informative, but the thing that prompted me to write this is that there are actually THREE villages in Corfu with this name and I think the other articles may be about the 'other' two. For avoidance of doubt, the Aghios Stefanos I visited is on the North East coast at the closest ...
...was about half way between Aghios (San) Stefanos and Kerasia beach. The road was a very pleasant walk through olive groves and full of wild flowers. At night time, the fire-flies were simply amazing. (I'd never seen them before). To explore the surrounding area, you don't need a car. You can hire a small boat from Yianni in Ag. Stef or Costa at Kerasia. (Costa wasn't open in early May). The bays to the north towards Kassiopi are smaller and mainly ...

The Little Prince & San Stefanos

Advantages: Great weather, friendly people, good food and very relaxing!
Disadvantages: not a lot going on during the evening for the younger crowd.

Having been to Corfu now 7 times, 3 of which have been in San Stefanos, this is without question one of my most favourite places on earth! The long sweeping bay curls round and is surrounded by hills giving the resort a kind of 'secluded - tucked away' feel. Still relatively untouched by commercialsim (unlike it's neighbour Sidari) San Stefanos has a warm friendly - family atmosphere. Perfect for couples old and young or those who just want to get ...
...in the resort seems to have it's own micro climate as the rest of the island can be covered in cloud and rain however the north west corner can miss a lot of this...though don't be fooled...when it does decide to rain it really goes for it! There are a number of good bars and restaurants in the resort, of which i am going to have to recommend 'The Little Prince Appartments' where i stayed last. Spacious, high standards and extremely clean the owners ...

Aghios Stefanos Corfu my 2nd home

Advantages: Warm and sunny most of the time, Safe Beach central for Boat trips.
Disadvantages: Too far away

I wish!!! I suppose that most of you will find this very boring but I have been going to the same place every year, except when my son was born, since 1985. The changes in that time have been major but what nothing can change is the warmth of the people, the quality fo the food and drink, and the general ambience. Various people have written about the beaches and the night-lifebut what few mention is the trust. You can let small children play ...
...play Pool, or go swimming in the various Hotel Pools knowing that they will be safe, and that the locals will let nothing happen to them. San Stefanos is a small club. The Harbour end of the village is annually peopled by the same returning holiday-makers and their children, and grand-children. The Beach is managed by the same Captain Nicos as taught me to Windsurf in the 80's and is now teaching my 11 year old son to water-ski. If you want a home ...

Quiet and relaxing with plenty to do!!!

Advantages: great weather, great beach, great bars & restaurants
Disadvantages: wasps!!!!! and plenty of them!!!

We stayed in san Stefanos and wanted a quiet ,relaxing holiday with plenty of things to do and thats what we got!!! San Stefanos is in the North of the Island but we managed to still get to see many different parts such as the beautiful Corfu Town, Sidara (bit like the Blackpool of Corfu) and also the southern part of the island. I definatly reccomend where we stayed. There are plenty of nice local tavernas with great food and variety which sell ...
...and taxis are reasonably priced. The beach is safe and clean. The only drawback we had was that there were lots of wasps!!!!!! and when my boyfriend is allergic to wasp stings it was quit a worry but we managed to get by, by eating inside a lot of the time and that way we would not get so harrassed by the wasps!!!!!!! San Stefanos is very much a couples place to visit and if you want loud music and clubs this is not the place. Its very relaxing with ...
