Advantages: cheapness of price considering it was New Year

I decided to fly with Air India because it was the cheapest flight we could find to go to New York at New Year and because we were on a budget the price was good at just under £200. I did have reservations about flying with them as I didn't know what they were like, I hadn't heard anything particulary bad and was reassured by a few people that have flown with them fairly regulary. ...lot of horror stories about Air India before taking this flight, but after my experience, I would definitely try them again. Advantages: Its cheap and the only Airline that'll serve you a curry!
Disadvantages: Understaffed, Check-in takes ages and service is slow

Air India, the Airline that serves you curries! Great! And its cheap too Great! And if those are your priorities and dont mind waiting in LONG, SLOW queues then this is the Airline you. I flew from London to New York with Air India recently, which set me back next to nothing. The flight cost £200!! (£50 of which is Airport tax)so that's quite a good deal, I though. ...York and I travelled with Air India as they were the cheapest I could find (on the website www.241.com). Despite the cheap prices, the service from the crew was what you would expect - friendly and helpful. The food on the flight was very good especially for curry lovers but if you don't like curry then there are alternative meals. ...time, too warm and the air conditioning wasnt working until the plane had been given the go ahead. Then upon take off, the cabin had once again become an igloo, with the air conditioning uncontrolably blasting from every crevice that had seemingly been blocked up when the plane had difficulties. I travelled home from Bombay (Mumbai) in the summer on Indian Airlines and was reasonably impressed. The flight was only an hour late, which is good by Indian standards -they had to get disabled people on. Although I must say that the cabin crew were quite miserable and snappy, although I guess you would be too if you still has to serve a Briton fifty years after independence. ...half the film. i flew on air india at peak season and the tickets were very cheap so that made the whole expeirence alot more bearable.. :P i would say that i would fly on this plane if i was looking for another bargin holiday. but other then that i dont think that this is the airline for many people. ... My trip on Air India was a little daunting. I travelled from london Heathrow to New York on the 1st September and paid £286 return. I found this really cheap and was nearly £200 less than the new closest airline. I had my resvervations about travelling with an airline like this. Disadvantages: Comfort if you are tired

I flew to New York from London last week and have to say that I really enjoyed our outgoing flight after reading BAD reviews almost everywhere I looked! Check-in time was exactly the same as anywhere else I have flown, queues were a bit longer getting on to the plane as it is a connecting flight and they have to get everyone off and tidy very quickly. I took Air India to New York from Heathrow last year. The plane was three hours late (not an uncommon experience, apparently) as it was late leaving India where many passengers had already embarked. Although it was allegedly cleaned during its refuelling at Heathrow, when I got on it looked, and smelled, like an Indian restaurant after a friday night visit by a group of drunken football hooligans. Advantages: An amazing experience for anyone interested in travel. India has it all and more.
Disadvantages: The visa is only valid for 6 months. Otherwise I would have stayed for 12.

...and service. The second was with Air India Express, and it was dire. The staff, as hard as they were trying were having a very hard time of it, as anyone who has been some time in India will testify. Indians are as well as being lovely people, are noisy, impatient, ill-disciplined and can be down right hard work to deal with......... Makes me laugh!!!
