I decided to fly with Air India because it was the cheapest flight we could find to go to New York at New Year and because we were on a budget the price was good at just under £200. I travelled home from Bombay (Mumbai) in the summer on Indian Airlines and was reasonably impressed. The flight was only an hour late, which is good by Indian standards -they had to get disabled people on. I found this really cheap and was nearly £200 less than the new closest airline. I had my resvervations about travelling with an airline like this. For the most part the people on board were transit passangers from different cities in India to New York, but there were several other people boarding with me in London. ...

I flew to New York from London last week and have to say that I really enjoyed our outgoing flight after reading BAD reviews almost everywhere I looked! Check-in time was exactly the same as anywhere else I have flown, queues were a bit longer getting on to the plane as it is a connecting flight and they have to get everyone off and tidy very quickly.
