Aer Lingus - EIN

I recently flew Aer Lingus for the first time in 16 years! My first flight with them had been as a small child travelling on a family holiday to the USA. We had to go from Heathrow to Dublin, then onto Shannon and finally to Orlando. They used to be a full service airline but now are less so. Aer Lingus is one of my favourite airlines. They have always got me to where I'm going on time. The staff are very polite, friendly and helpful. ...more than 10 years with Aer Lingus, I have seen them grow from a small provincial airline, into a vast international company. Through this growth tehy have never lost that unique Irish Hosptality. the fact that Aer Lingus Commuter has grown from aroung 30 cabin staff to almost 300 i believe, has not prevented all of us frequent travellers being recognised and warmly welcomed. The aircraft was roomy and bright inside, clean with a good inflight magazine with value for money onboard shopping available. Aer Lingus are one of the 2 big players on the Ireland-England Route. The other being Ryan Air. Aer Lingus has been established for a bit longer than Ryan Air and it gives a better level of Service. They both operate from the same airport as my airline and the general concensus from passengers I meet is that Lingus give a better level of customer service. They are in direct competition with each other but there is plenty of trade for both of them ...

Using the Aer Lingus web site is simplicity itself. If your travel dates are flexible, it will offer a range of low fare options, many of which do not require a minimum stay. With your e-ticket, you can use the self service check-in machine, thus avoiding queues, and even select your preferred seat. Because of pre-assigned seating, there is no trouble boarding. As I am travelling on business quite a bit throughout Europe, I really feel I should express my dissatisfaction with this airline. First of all the handling at Dublin airport is not professional at all. In case that there should be any problems with the ticket, staff doesn't seem to be flexible enough to sort it out, so I decided on numerous occasions to fly with another airline instead, even though the ticket was not appropriate for that routing ...

We use Aer Lingus and Ryan Air quite often (see my review under Ryan Air). On the whole I have found the Aer Lingus service to be entirely satisfactory, and price wise they can sometimes be more competitive than Ryan Air (watch out for their Companion Fares). I don't feel there's much to choose between the two, and the only major disadvantage seems to be you can't book on line. The service provided is always to a high standard, both in the air and ...
