Advantages: Car clean & tidy
Disadvantages: Staff at outlet lie to get more money. Customer services unhelpful.

...off with standard responses from Alamo asking for further information about our car hire, claiming they were having trouble tracing our paperwork, while they have claimed interest on our money. Today we have been told that the charge incurred was for the FREE upgrade. Ive now rented with Alamo/National car hire in the states now three time.Each time Ive found no problems at all.Ive found the staff to be very helpful...everyone was offered me a map and directions for journey when first collect the vehicle...some thing thats very welcoming when you are in a strange country. ...quotes for car hire that Alamo does not include the CDW (basically the insurance) Just been looking round for somewhere to hire a car over the Christmas period. Disadvantages: long queues and rubbish car seats for baby

...think this is specific to Alamo as we have had problems before and I would always recommend taking your own baby seat if you can. We have booked Alamo again for next year and are hoping for the same set-up. ... Read review

BE AWARE- ALAMO RENTAL CAR IN NASSAU, BAHAMAS We rented an economy car for our vacation and paid for Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) daily. On the last day of our trip in the parking lot we found minor scratched on the bumper. (people literally drive like crap out there). never used Alamo beforebut it came with part of our package from British Airways. Before our trip we had filled in a "Quick Pass" which basically meant us filling in our driver details before the holiday and thus saving time queing and relaying details. Made my holiday experience amazing. It cost me less hiring with alamo with all the added extra we choose to have dammage wavied etc that what our tour operator was going to charge. Alamo has a clever way to double or triple the bill of unsuspecting customers. Over the web, I arranged to rent a car from Alamo for 5 days and received a special weekly rate of $149. My return plans changed and I had to return the car on the fourth day. I fully expected to pay the entire $149 as I agreed and wasn't looking for a pro-rated charge - in fact the confirmation email states that early returns on special weekly rates are not entitled ... ...to fetch my car at Alamo in San Francisco there was a very long queue of people some of which had been waiting for their car for 2 hours and hadn't received it yet. I had to wait for about an hour in the queue. When it was my turn they told me that my contract had been canceled and they counld't do anything. ...and they were told by Alamo the $527.00 extra charges were for an from a compact. I am feeling very dissappointed and ripped off.
