The Alhambra Theatre is famed for having the best pantomime in the country and is vastly regarded as the best theatre this side of Birmingham. Built in the 1920s (the exact hyear escapes me) and restored in 1988, the theatre really is splendid. Its architecture contrasts that of the surrounding area but in a pleasing way, and its dome matches with the two of the former Odeon Cinema nicely. It is a very "grand" design and inside it is nicely decorated in the style it was probably like in the 1920s, with the exception of the viewing gallery/bar which overlooks the city.
