5 Stars All The Fun Of The Park! Review with images 15/03/2006

    Advantages Advantages lots to do

Disadvantages Disadvantages some rides may scare you too much

ALTON TOWERS Every year I visit the Alton Towers Theme Park with a bunch of friends, and every year I really enjoy it. It has everything you need for a fun day out. All the rides, lots of places to eat, walks around the gardens, live shows for both children and adults, and the list goes on. Last time I visited the Park was late October 2005, for the 'Terror Of The Towers' themed weekend, this of course being a weekend where you not only get the usual rides and other pleasures of the theme park, but also a lot of people get dressed up in their Halloween gear, and Alton Towers opens that little ... more

Advantages Advantages A fab day out!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Queues, expensive.

With Summer rapidly turning into Autumn and the summer holidays coming to an end, this doesn't seem like a very good time to be writing a review of a place that is the perfect day out for a family during the summer. But nevertheless I shall continue... Alton Towers, for those of you who don't know, is one of the UK's leading theme parks. Situated in the heart of Staffordshire, in a small village called Alton, the theme park spans 500 acres of countryside, hosting a whole range of rides and attractions and making it the perfect place for a short break or a family day out. GETTING THERE = Since ... more

Advantages Advantages It's fantastic. It rocks. It's magical, atmospheric, historical, thrilling!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Err...Expensive. Too many vending machines

*Prepares self* This could be a long one. ;P I've been an Alton Towers enthusiast for a long time now. I first went when I was a young child, I had a great time but didn't really remember it. I next went on a school trip when I was 12 in the summer, had a fantastic time, did the same the year after and since then have been going several times a year. For example, Alton Towers opened March 12th and as of May 12th, I've been three times, with six or seven more trips planned taking me through to July. I also spend a lot of time on an Alton Towers forum, so you could say I know my stuff ;). Alton ... more

A few weeks ago my fiancé suggested that we take a trip to Alton Towers, it is something we do most years and is always a good day out. For me Alton Towers is a fun day packed with so much to do and there really is something for everything. Prices Tickets into Alton Towers I think are quite expensive however it is worth the money as you do get a full days worth of activities. Adults - £38 Each Children - £29 Each (Children aged 4 – 11) Children Under 4 -Free There are also various family ticket offers which work out cheaper however these depend on who and how many are in you party. Advantages Advantages Great rides, great selection of restaurants, great for all ages

Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive, huge queues, very large park (lots of walking!)

After visting Alton Towers with my partner recently, I have mixed views about the park, so thought my impartial views would probably be helpful for writing a hopefully useful and constructive review! Getting To The Park Once you're near Alton Towers, it is well sign posted from all directions. We turned our SatNav off once we saw the first sign, as it was so well sign posted we no longer needed to be told by the SatNav which way to go. Parking There is a HUGE car park - remember where you parked by seeing the letter reference (e.g. car park area A, B, C, D etc) before you leave your car, as it ... more

** Update at bottom. Yes yes, I know I've written about Alton Towers before but that was several years ago now, the park's changed quite a bit since then and besides, I've got some new stuff to say. Forgive me, therefore, if I continue… I like my theme parks me (did someone say "No sh*t Sherlock?") and I've always said that Alton Towers is easily the best theme park in the UK, very possibly the best in Europe. So the question is, is it STILL the best? Or is there now a better one? Or have I just changed my mind? Read on dear viewer and I'll tell you. The answer to the first question is yes, I ... more

    Advantages Advantages Some Great Rides

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Queues

Alton Towers is a place I've wanted to visit ever since I've been a child but never actually had the opportunity to go as it is a 3 hour drive and what I would consider to be quite expensive with regards to admission prices. So when I visited the Alton Towers website and noticed that if we purchased tickets on-line to attend the park in June we would be able to get in free any time in September, this was enough to tempt me to buy a pair of tickets for my partner and myself, on which I got extra discount for purchasing on-line. Another perk of ordering tickets on-line was that we got early ... more

Advantages Advantages Fun day out, great rides.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Pricey, lots of walking.

I thought I'd do a review of Alton Towers because it will give me a lot to write about and I went there quite recently for the first time and enjoyed it very much. I haven't written in this kind of category before and only now do I see how much there actually is to write, so here goes: Alton Towers Theme Park is the most famous theme park which has been successfully running since 1980. The park is set high in the hills of Alton in Staffordshire and it is so well hidden amongst the trees that if the queues and queues of cars within a few miles of the place weren't there you'd never notice it ... more

After a visit to Alton Towers theme park, I thought it was about time I complete a review on my experience there. Why Alton Towers We as a group chosen Alton Towers for many reasons, but mainly because it has many fantastic rides that will take your breath away, in addition to the fantastic scenery. We had heard from other friends that it's an adventure for children and adults alike. We wanted to go somewhere that we would have a fantastic time and also be able to get some memorable pictures and stories Getting There We driven from Scotland (Edinburgh) - It taken approximately 5hrs to drive ... more

Advantages Advantages SO much to do, fab hotel!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive

I visited Alton Towers last year in April 2006. I went with four people and stayed a night at the Alton Towers hotel but I am only reviewing the theme park. --- So what is at Alton Towers? --- Well you have the actual theme park with its hotel, Alton Towers Hotel and you also have Splash Landings. Splash Landings is a swimming pool with wave machines, lazy rivers and all sorts of water slides set inside a building next to the Alton Towers hotel. Splash Landings also has its own hotel like the theme Park called Splash Landings hotel. The newest addition to Alton Towers is a spa and a golf ... more
