All The Fun Of The Park!

Advantages: lots to do
Disadvantages: some rides may scare you too much

ALTON TOWERS Every year I visit the Alton Towers Theme Park with a bunch of friends, and every year I really enjoy it. It has everything you need for a fun day out. All the rides, lots of places to eat, walks around the gardens, live shows for both children and adults, and the list goes on. Last time I visited the Park was late October 2005, for the 'Terror Of The Towers' themed weekend, this of course being a weekend where you not only get the ...
...in their Halloween gear, and Alton Towers opens that little later for a scarier feel, and also puts on a fantastic firework display. But first of all, lets split this review into sections, and before I tell you about my experiences of the rides (which you're bound to tease me about forever!) lets take a little look into the history of Alton Towers, and then go onto the rides and other amenities. ----------------------------------------------------------- ...

• Not just for thrillseekers

Advantages: A fab day out!
Disadvantages: Queues, expensive.

...nevertheless I shall continue... Alton Towers, for those of you who don't know, is one of the UK's leading theme parks. Situated in the heart of Staffordshire, in a small village called Alton, the theme park spans 500 acres of countryside, hosting a whole range of rides and attractions and making it the perfect place for a short break or a family day out. GETTING THERE ============= Since it's situated in quite a small village, it's not the easiest ...
...somewhere over night, of course Alton Towers does now have its own hotel and water theme park. You can find more information on this, and local B&Bs or self-catering accommodation on the Alton Towers website (www.alton-towers.com). GETTING IN - THE DREADED ADMISSION PRICES ====================================== Well we may as well get this over and done with. Yes, there's no denying that the admissions prices are extortionate. They seem to rise ...

A Review by the Ultimate AT Enthusiast.

Advantages: It's fantastic. It rocks. It's magical, atmospheric, historical, thrilling!
Disadvantages: Err...Expensive. Too many vending machines

...;P I've been an Alton Towers enthusiast for a long time now. I first went when I was a young child, I had a great time but didn't really remember it. I next went on a school trip when I was 12 in the summer, had a fantastic time, did the same the year after and since then have been going several times a year. For example, Alton Towers opened March 12th and as of May 12th, I've been three times, with six or seven more trips planned taking me through ...
...an Alton Towers forum, so you could say I know my stuff ;). Alton Towers has a very large Internet fanbase, often establishing itself in the many discussion board communities. The official site is www.alton-towers.co.uk, but this is not the best place to go, type Alton Towers into Google for more information. The very fact that there are fanatics about this place is a tribute to AT. The old tagline 'Where the Magic Never Ends' certainly was true ...

Alton Towers Theme Park

Advantages: Great rides, great selection of restaurants, great for all ages
Disadvantages: Expensive, huge queues, very large park (lots of walking!)

After visting Alton Towers with my partner recently, I have mixed views about the park, so thought my impartial views would probably be helpful for writing a hopefully useful and constructive review! == Getting To The Park == Once you're near Alton Towers, it is well sign posted from all directions. We turned our SatNav off once we saw the first sign, as it was so well sign posted we no longer needed to be told by the SatNav which way to go. == ...
...a public car park, it's Alton Towers' car park only, so it should be included in the already expensive ticket price. There is then a train which takes you to the entrance gates of Alton Towers. == Prices & Opening Times == I would advise you to check the official website before you leave, but it is generally 10.00am - 5.00pm. It closes later in the Summer (probably because the queues are longer). The prices are as follows: Adult: £36 Child: £27 ...

Henry Hound is Back!!

Advantages: Nemesis. Oblivion. HENRY!!
Disadvantages: £££££££'s!!

...I know I've written about Alton Towers before but that was several years ago now, the park's changed quite a bit since then and besides, I've got some new stuff to say. Forgive me, therefore, if I continue… I like my theme parks me (did someone say "No sh*t Sherlock?") and I've always said that Alton Towers is easily the best theme park in the UK, very possibly the best in Europe. So the question is, is it STILL the best? Or is there now a better ...
...the time being at least, Alton Towers is still home to one of the best collections of rides & attractions outside of the States. The thing is, there's more to a theme park than just its rides. Things like friendliness, cleanliness, atmosphere and even good old fashioned value-for-money should also be part of the equation and it's these areas where Alton Towers seems to have lost its way over the years. To say I'm a regular visitor is an understatement, ...

Alton Towers- What a day

Advantages: All in one place, Fantastic grounds, Helpful Staff
Disadvantages: Really just the Q time

After a visit to Alton Towers theme park, I thought it was about time I complete a review on my experience there. == Why Alton Towers== We as a group chosen Alton Towers for many reasons, but mainly because it has many fantastic rides that will take your breath away, in addition to the fantastic scenery. We had heard from other friends that it's an adventure for children and adults alike. We wanted to go somewhere that we would have a fantastic ...

Travelling from the North you need to take Junction 15 off the M6, when travelling on the M6 be aware there are many average speed cameras, so set your car to cruise control and sit back and don't get the urge to hammer it down the motorway. Travelling from the south you need to take Junction 16 off the M6, No direct buses run from Scotland too Alton, so if you need to ...

...I'd do a review of Alton Towers because it will give me a lot to write about and I went there quite recently for the first time and enjoyed it very much. I haven't written in this kind of category before and only now do I see how much there actually is to write, so here goes: Alton Towers Theme Park is the most famous theme park which has been successfully running since 1980. The park is set high in the hills of Alton in Staffordshire and it is ...

A Magical Day Out

Advantages: SO much to do, fab hotel!

I visited Alton Towers last year in April 2006. I went with four people and stayed a night at the Alton Towers hotel but I am only reviewing the theme park. --- So what is at Alton Towers? --- Well you have the actual theme park with its hotel, Alton Towers Hotel and you also have Splash Landings. A fulfilling experience

Advantages: Something for everyone
Disadvantages: Transportation

...I have never visited Alton Towers when they have a theme fun day as I have said before I only visited one time but I know they have days like Halloween where people get dress up for the occasion i.e. in their Halloween clothing and the park open a little bit later than normal, and I heard it is fun . A Great Family Holiday

Advantages: beautiful hotel and some really fantastic rides
Disadvantages: can be pricy

...years ago I went to Alton Towers with my fiancé and our daughter. Last year we went back. This year we will go back again. I have added some photographs of our time there in the hope it may help demonstrate the entertainment and family fun available Alton Towers is FANTASTIC and it has something for everyone. Parents can pick up a ticket at any of the help desks within the park which allows one parent to queue normally while the other looks after the children. Once the first parent comes of the ride the second parent can then enter through the exit without the need to wait in queue. This option is available for most of the big thrill rides and some ...

Family fun

Advantages: good rides
Disadvantages: Can be expensive by the end of a day

Alton towers is one of the UK's most loved them parks. It is made up of a good mix of tame rides and thrill rides. I have being going at least once a year for as long as I can remember! The park is set in it's own grounds with it's own stately home. The park has a big lake which is visible has you enter through the main gates. People can and do, chill out on the grass surrounding the lake during the summer to eat lunch or just sunbathe. The theme ...

However during the year there are always opportunities to get in half price with buy one get one free vouchers. I don't think i have ever paid full price yet as we always make sure that when we go we have some kind of voucher. Of course if you are the type who will ...

Fun day out for all

Advantages: so much variety
Disadvantages: queues

I went to Alton Towers last year with my partner and a group of friends in July, and had a brilliant day. There were so many rides to choose from, and we bought the queue buster ticket at an additional cost to beat the queues and make the most of the day. --Accessibility-- We drove to Alton Towers, staying in a hotel roughly 25miles away in Derby. Overall, it was well signposted and easy to get to. There is a regular bus service throughout the day ...

There is a garden walkway with many hills and steps, but the flowers and hedging is lovely and superbly maintained. There are also some stunning water fountains and features, such as conservatories to make this a truly memorable stroll. --Food facilities-- At alton towers, there are various places to stop and have a snack. there ...

Try out the Towers!

Advantages: lots to do
Disadvantages: expensive

Alton Towers Over the summer my husband and I went over to Alton Towers for a few days for a break. For those who haven't heard of Alton Towers it's a large theme park with attractions and thrill rides. It cost £37(adult) and £28 (child) to get in. They do deals for example if you buy in advance online it costs £29.50 (adult) and £22.80. The park has several different sections offering various things to certain age groups. As you arrive into the ...
...**OVERALL** I enjoyed Alton Tours however I didn't get the most out of my money, as I didn't go on a lot of the rides (mostly rollercoasters). I felt then it was rather expensive day out as we weren't taking advantage of everything on offer to us in the park. For my husband and I two days was enough to see all around the park and go on the rides we wanted to. It was extremely busy when we went but it was the summer holidays so I suppose you have ...
