I found the brochure and discovered that two nights for the two of us at The Angel Hotel Cardiff, which is a four star hotel, would cost £102 for bed, breakfast and evening meal! The Angel Hotel is situated on the A4161 in between the Millennium Stadium and Cardiff Castle. It is easily reached from the M4, is five minutes from Cardiff Central Railway Station and about 12 miles from Cardiff Airport so it is certainly convenient.
On entering the hotel we found ourselves in a huge circular room with an imposing staircase sweeping down from the first floor, where there was a gallery landing complete with sofas. ...

...two night stay in The Angel Hotel,which is opposite Cardiff Castle and close to the city centre and the sparkling new Millennium Stadium.This hotel is steeped in history for its origins go back to 1666,which makes it the oldest and most famous hotel in town. The place has been skilfully modernised but managed to retain its gracious decor and furnishings to make for a very relaxing stay.
