    Advantages Advantages Stunning views, beautiful trains

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Crowds at peak periods - something that would be more enjoyable at quieter times

    On my recent trip to Spain I wanted to spend a day out of Palma Nova and revisit Palma de Mallorca, the capital city of the island of Majorca. However doing anything with my daughter tends to lead to arguments and I have learned over the years that it’s usually better to just do things on the spur of the moment otherwise she will dismiss any suggestions with a resounding “no”.     The train from Palma to Soller (and then onto Soller Port) is an old tram-style wooden train. Whilst the route does take in some of the best views on the island you may find that the flat wooden seats are slightly uncomfortable for the hour(-ish) ride. We had been warned that the seats were hard and took our towels along with us to sit on, cushions not being high on our holiday packing list!! The wasn't any commentary on our trains although it did seem as though the trains had been wired for a commentary system.
