From here it was Arriva who an the trains, once again thankfully not for long. Mainly, arriva transpennine express trains never "arriva-ed" on time, if they were not cancelled.
Transpennine express is now part of the first group, and I will now go into the details of the group.
The Route...
First transpennine express now operate four main routes (will operate five by the beginning of 2008)...
Manchester Airport>Manchester>Sheffield>Cleethorpes(south)
... ...Middlesborough (north)
as above to Manchester>Preston>the Lake District(north west)
as above to Manchester >Preston>Blackpool(north west)
In December of 2007 there will also be anther new route added to the north west routes...
Manchester Airport>Manchester>Carslisle>Edinburgh/Glasgow
Trains...
First transpennine express now operates mainly brand new class 185 trains, and these are spotless and very comfortable. the only route not operated ...

Advantages: Clean and reliable, fast and professional company. Disadvantages: Expensive catering and ticket prices.

I have used Transpennine since the Arriva days and when First Keolis took over the franchise the changes where literally made overnight. Almost immediately, we saw new green, ... ...were cleaned up no end and they applied new lemon scented headrests in the cabin, which was such an innovation, it was in the regional newspapers.
Now, that's enough about Transpennines' history. Lets get down to the nitty gritty.

Advantages: New trains, regular services, First Class Disadvantages: Class 175's suffer from over crowding,

Advantages: Very efficient handing out complains forms Disadvantages: un-organised with regards to train times and customers
...NO trains. So I rang arriva who said another company now ran the train line-Transpenine Express-ran by arriva?. The woman told me there were many problems with the service and it was to do with the other train company.
The taxi driver was still shouting at this point when a train finally came.
There was no communication from any staff over than the staion master who hd no idea what was happening, neither did the customer advisors on the help line.
