Advantages: provide a crucial public service Disadvantages: they're only after the profits
...sipping cocktails. Sorry Ciao, Arriva is a bus company, not a tropical island. So change the picture!
Anyway, many public-transport users (or should I say "victims"?) will be familiar with Arriva, which seems to operate bus services all over the place nowadays. Here in Leicester, Arriva took over the old Midland Fox service that connects the city with the village I live in.
As I don't drive, if I can't get a lift I either have to cycle or rely ...

...that I have to use Arriva buses only. This however is not too much of a snag.
After arranging my working hours over the festive period, I decided to check up on the bus timetables for running times – a little foresight came into play here. Just because I was working does not necessarily mean that public transport is running! Sorry, please excuse the overwhelming sarcasm, nasty trait of mine. Anyway, the quickest way to do this was, wait for ...

Advantages: Public transport Disadvantages: Unreliable, grumpy drivers, expensive
I live in Surrey and have been using the local bus service for years!! For over 6 years anyway! The bus company is called Arriva.
My journey into town takes about 15 mins by bus. Why dont I walk, you say? I walk it sometimes in the summer and it takes about 40mins, I know it doesn't sound very long but it is after you've worked 9am - 6pm, you just want to get home!
Anyway, there are 2 buses which run in my area, 1 goes the long way round the ...

A couple of starting points.
~ I'm slating Arriva WOKING, I'dont know about services in the rest of the country although from other ops I guess I'm not alone.
~ GUILDFORD runs a decent service, the busses always turn up and the staff are plesent

...very negative response towards the Arriva company and personally I think that's wrong!!!
Arriva is a Sunderland based company (I live in Newcastle) that operates throughout the north east. Although there are only 4 buses with the arriva sign on it per hour to 2 different destinations in my area i believe there are enough to give a satisfactory service. Compared to the other big north eastern company go north east. They still produce a great quality ...

...than intelligence.
~ The introduction of Arriva to the Maidstone area had to be deemed a good thing. The service realistically couldn’t be any worse than the one we had been subject to for many years from M & D, but would it actually be an improvement?
The fleet of buses brought to Maidstone by the Arriva company are mostly newer vehicles. Generally clean, the interiors are cheery with spotted fabric seats and rather bright green trimmings. ...

...wish to read no further: Arriva is a big pile of pathetic dung wearing a turquoise shirt and pretending to be public transport.
Right, all those who require further explanation, let's go.
Let's analyse Arriva shall we? and how we, the public, use them in our daily life.
OK, first step in using their service is the bus stop yes? Walk to your nearest one, which fortunately for me is not too far. Lately they've had the courtesy to post some ...

Advantages: reliable, cheap service Disadvantages: buses sometimes arrive earlier than scheduled
Arriva is one of the largest bus operators in the UK with over 6000 vehicles in operation. It also seems to have the monopoly of the London public transport market with over 20% of the capital’s bus services. So for a business to be so successful, they must be doing something right. And that’s where I come in – giving you the low down on Arriva and the service they provide.
Before I go any further I would just like to quickly point out that my ...

...me exactly two hours. Arriva is the only service which goes on the route I need so I’m a captive audience. I’m now going to have a good old whinge about Arriva.
Firstly, I’ve yet to come across an Arriva bus which arrived on time. It seems to be that bus timetables are there only to give you something to read on the bus stop. It’s pure fiction of course. Nearly every Arriva bus I board is, at the very least, ten minutes late. The service from ...

...ridiculing this companies name. Arriva is Italian for "it arrives". This name is so in adequate for this company. I think you will all agree that a more adequate name would be "arriva molto tardi o niente affatto" I agree it is a bit longer but much more adequate and in Italian seeing as they like Italian so much. "Arriva molto tardi o niente affatto" is Italian for "it arrives very late or not at all". This would apply for both the buses and the ...

Arriva is one of the largest bus companies in the UK. Unfortuanately it is the only service available in my area, so If you are a student like me without a car, its either use them or walk. There isn't anything good to sya about them so Ill list their bad points:
-Abusive Staff:
All Arriva bus drivers are grumpy ( I think its in the job description). I have even been shouted at by a bus driver, who called me a "liar" in front of the whole bus ...

Advantages: One less car on the road Disadvantages: When is the next one supposed to come
Some years ago, my local bus company was taken over by 'Arriva' - who's initial promises included - more buses, an improved timetable and in general, a better service to the public. At the same time, we were encouraged to use public transport to ease the traffic load, particularly at rush hour and for this reason (and the cost of running two cars) I decided to travel to work by bus. OK, maybe I should have considered a bike, but the distances involved ...

Arriva buses are the bane of my life. I have to get one every day to and from uni, and although my other local bus company (First Leeds) is bad, nothing quite beats Arriva for employing rude, unpleasant people, failing to clean their buses (I've been on the same bus about 5 or 6 times this week, and there is still a splattering of ketchup across the back seat) and failing to keep to any sort of timetable.
There is a timetable, I have a copy, but ...

You know how they keep getting on at you to abandon you cars, and use public transport. Well don't do it.
Why? It could result in untold stress and even depression.

Advantages: Umm... Disadvantages: Far too expensive
Arriva guarantee efficient service at equitable fares. However, they dispense a mediocre service at exorbitant prices, for which I very rarely use. I live in a petite village way out from the hustle and bustle of town. It's great for relaxing, but no good when you need a quick look in HMV or fancy a trip to the cinema. So, Arriva provide a bus into the centre of Newcastle, a meagre ten miles away. Every hour, so hardly the most frequent fliers. Anyway, ...
